Cap d'Agde offers a unique contrast: moorings for 2000 boats (hire possible). 7 five star sandy beaches, dotted with cliffs, small rocky islands, water sports, tennis courts, 2 squash courts, 18 hole golf course, minigolf, horse riding, go karting and skateboarding, casino, 16 nightclubs, Lunapark, cinema. 'Thalacap' seawater therapy centre. Le Cap d'Agde is great for family fun and also boasts an aquarium, aquatic leisure park, underwater archaeology museum and amusement parks. There are also lots of opportunities for water sports, hand gliding, paragliding, cycling etc.
Three miles from the centre of Cap d'Agde lies Agde (the old town) and this is where you'll get your history fix. It dates back to the 5th-century with typically narrow streets and privately owned houses or 'maison particuliers' made out of volcanic rock from the Pic St Loup lava flow. It's here you'll see 'les jouters' or jousting in long barges which is a popular local sport.
