Photos and Description of this Cote d'Or holiday cottage Oak beams, flagstones, French doors, patio, one bedroom and bathroom

This delightful house has it all - oak beams, flagstones, underfloor geothermal heating, log fire, French doors, south facing garden, large bedroom and bathroom with shower and bath; linens and towels provided, bed made up. It's the perfect romantic getaway for two people. From the garden you can see the sun preparing to set behind the trees beyond, and listen to loads of birdsong. There is a parking space outside the front door on the 'village green'. The downstairs is one large open-plan kitchen/living/dining area; the walls have all been beautifully plastered and lime-washed with a warm but very light shade of honey. Upstairs, exposed oak beams throughout the bedroom and mezzanine enhance the recent renovation of this charming property. Our stonemason and estate agent now tell me that they both regret not having bought the house for themselves!

A home in Burgundy

Dave and Carol Bedford, MA USA
Review Submitted: October 11, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We loved our stay at the cottage in Corsaint! It was a great mixture of antiques and contemporary furnishings... well-stocked with kitchen and bath supplies and equipment (even a hair dryer) - everything one would need to make yourself at home. We loved being able to sit out in the garden in the late afternoon with a good bottle of local wine and awesome Epoisses cheese. The cottage was also really well-located - within an hour's drive of so many great places for sightseeing: Dijon, Beaune, Vezeley, Auxerre, Avallon, the Abbey of Fontaney...etc. There is so much to see/do in the area that we regret we didn't book a two-week stay.

Heaven!

This is a really lovely property and we had a fantastic week in Corsaint. The cottage is spacious, light, beautifully furnished with a mixture of new and old; and the garden is a delight, with a view to open fields. We really couldn't fault the house, the village, or the general area. There's plenty to see and do for those who want to get out and about, but it's an equal pleasure to get home and start the bar-b-q! This may have been our first visit but I doubt it will be our last. Like many visitors, Semur was a popular stop-off for picnic ingredients and a quick coffee, and Vezelay and Fontenay Abbey are both a "must". We had a super, super holiday.

Holiday Home in Corsaint

Roy & Susan Leicester, England
Review Submitted: June 17, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We wanted a holiday of rest and relaxation, warm sunshine, very comfortable accommodation, an opportunity to see beautiful French countryside and visit real French towns, villages and hamlets, to eat French food and simply to live like the French for a couple of weeks. Bill and Jenny's cottage in Corsaint gave us all that we were looking for. We were there for the first two weeks in June and the weather was great for most of the time with perhaps a few too many showers during the second week. The hamlet of Corsaint is beautiful and the cottage's location next to the church is idyllic. There are supermarkets not too far away to do weekly shopping and a fantastic bakery and cake shop in nearby Epoisses for those special French treats. There are many interesting towns to visit within a short driving distance and all of them have decent restaurants to choose from, although we like to cook and so we enjoyed preparing our own food and eating in the garden. The paths running alongside the canals of the region provide exercise for keen walkers and a leisurely stroll for those not so energetic. As for rest and relaxation, we could not have chosen a better place to stay.

Una bella sorpresa

Review Submitted: March 5, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
