Nestled between the beaches of Calvia and the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains in western Mallorca is the tourist resort of Peguera. Known for the pure white sand on its beaches and charming restaurants, Peguera is one of the oldest beach resorts in western Mallorca. Surrounded by palm trees and offering beautiful views over the ocean, Peguera properties are wonderfully scenic and perfectly positioned for explorations of Palma Nova, Santa Ponsa and Magaluf.

Things to do in Peguera, Mallorca

The white sand beaches that stretch out in front of Peguera are a huge attraction to the area. Sheltered from the elements by the peaks of the Tramuntana Mountains and often lined with top class facilities including bars, water sports centres and restaurants, the small cove beaches in the Peguera area are a delight for beach lovers. If you are looking for wide expanses of sand, with plenty of tourist facilities and always plenty going on, Peguera Romana Beach is perfect. The pure white sands are backed by pine groves, and there are a large range of restaurants and water sports facilities. Peguera’s Palmira beach is perfect for water sports, due to the reliable winds that blow on shore. The third main beach in Peguera, Playa Tora is a snorkelling haven, with coral reefs clearly visible from the beach.

There is a huge range of coastal hiking trails emanating from the back of the resort. The coastal paths are exceptional, with paths running along the cliff tops around the bay to Palma Nova and El Arenal. There are also some excellent walking and mountain biking trails towards the Tramuntana Mountains, taking visitors to the most beautiful viewpoints in the whole of western Mallorca.

Within the town, there are a couple of excellent shopping streets to explore. El Bulevar is the main shopping street, stocked to bursting point with fine restaurants, bars and an excellent range of shops selling everything from food to designer clothing and local crafts.

There are also some fantastic boat trips to be taken from a holiday rental in Peguera. Glass bottomed boat trips are a magnificent way to discover the underwater world that surrounds Peguera without having to get wet, and sightseeing trips to the nature reserve on Dragonera Island are well worth taking. If you would like to independently visit the park, which contains a magnificent ruin of a Roman village, a permit must be obtained from the local council.

There is a surprising amount of golf played around Peguera, with six golf courses in the near vicinity of a self catering Peguera villa. Tee off times can be easily arranged, and there are plenty of challenges to conquer.

Places to visit on holiday to Peguera, Mallorca

There is a wonderful walk you can take between a holiday rental in Peguera and Andraitx to the south. Andraitx is well worth visiting from any Peguera accommodation, as the narrow, twisting cobbled streets hide some amazing treasures. Simply walking through the streets of Andraitx is a pleasure, with a truly Mallorcan atmosphere and plenty to see.

Cheap flights to Peguera, Mallorca

Located just 35km from Son Sant Joan International Airport (PMI), holiday homes in Peguera are very easily reached from the UK. Palma Airport, as it is also known, receives a great range of daily flights from across the UK, provided by airlines ranging from the ‘no frills’ cheap airlines to the more luxurious. The transfer times from the airport are around 40 minutes, and there are plenty of taxis waiting at the airport. Although prices are very reasonable, arranging a price before leaving is a good idea.
