Pleudihen-Sur-Rance and local area

Pleudihen-Sur-Rance is a traditional sleepy French village. It is situated on the River Rance and just 30 min drive from coastal town of Saint Malo and Dinard. There are regular ferries from Portsmouth, Guernsey and Jersey to Saint Malo meaning the drive once you arrive is only a short one. Also there are low cost flights to Dinard from 4 UK airports making it an affordable place to come to.

Pleudihen-Sur-Rance is also a 25 min drive from the famous medieval town called Dinan. Dinan has a wealth of character and you are able to lose a day meandering throughout its inner city walls where you will find a wide variety of restaurant and shop. There is a bi-annual week-long celebration during July where you will see and experience the life of Dinan during the medieval times. Pleudihen-Sur-Rance is famous for its cider; you can visit its shop in the high street for cider tasting and for purchasing the range of ciders available. There is a Tuesday morning market in the village just behind the Church where you can buy local produce or watch the world go by whilst you have a coffee in the local cafe. The village boasts one of the best bakeries in the region where you are able to buy your mooring croissant, bagel etc. The village also has a good supermarket, banks, shops, crepe and pizza restaurant etc. The village hosts its annual Fete de Ble, during mid August, you are able to sample local cuisine, and see how the locals harvested their crops over a century ago.
