Albufeira - As well as its active nightlife and sandy coves, Albufeira attracts visitors for its historic sights too. Named by the Moors in the 8th century as ‘the castle in the sea’ it was a fortified stronghold many centuries ago. Check out the Roman built bridges at Paderne and Guia. The Church of Sao Sebastiao on Praca Miguel Bombarda has some beautiful features including a Manueline style doorway.

Carvoeiro - This lively town is a great place for nightlife and is just 5 minutes down the road from your Poco Partido villa. It has a host of lively bars and some excellent restaurants which offer delicious local seafood. By day Carvoeira has an excellent beach offering sunbathing and plenty of fun beach sports.

Silves - One of the most historic attractions in the area is the walled town of Silves, marked by its imposing red sandstone castle. It is approximately 10km inland from your self catering villa in Poco Partides. Silves has an interesting history dating back to the time of the Crusades, and is now a quiet market town surrounded by citrus groves.
