Port Grimaud was designed to age as a traditional fishing village would, and the brightly painted villas in Port-Grimaud have done exactly that. With no roads, Port-Grimaud is a wonderful place to walk, with beautiful little bridges linking the many islands upon which the village stands. Water taxis are also available, so if you end up buying more than you can carry from one of the town’s two large squares, help is at hand! There are a surprisingly good range of shops and restaurants around Port-Grimaud’s squares, and there is even a weekly market from which to pluck the finest of local produce. The waterfront bars, restaurants and cafes are particularly atmospheric, especially in the summer.

Of course, those renting self catering Port-Grimaud accommodation will be want to know about the local beaches, which, being on the Gulf of St Tropez, are of the highest quality. There are two glorious beaches at the head of the complex, both easily accessible on foot from any of Port-Grimaud’s villas. Water sports are in rich supply, and you can always join a game of volleyball on Port-Grimaud beach. Water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing, body boarding and, of course, sailing all thrives from Port-Grimaud, and if there is any water sport that you would like to try, but cannot find in Port-Grimaud, St Tropez is just across the water.

Your choice of activity is not limited to water sports from a holiday rental in Port-Grimaud though. On the landward side of the complex are golf courses, riding stables and a huge range of walking and mountain biking trails. The golf courses of Beauvallon, Sainte Maxime and Gassin are all within easy reach of a Port-Grimaud property.

Port-Grimaud is excellently connected to St Tropez and Saint Raphael by ferry, which is especially useful as travelling local roads during the summer can be very slow and testing. St Tropez and St Raphael are beach resorts of the highest quality, offering plentiful water sports, excellent nightlife and some of the region’s best restaurants. St Tropez is one of the most famous beach resorts in Europe, known as a playground for the rich and famous.

Port-Grimaud is only at full capacity for about 4 months of the year, as the blissfully hot summer months, from June until the end of September, bring residents home to bask in daily temperatures which often threaten to break the 40˚C mark. Eating outside in the evening is fantastic, as the evenings remain balmy throughout the summer months.

Cheap flights to Port-Grimaud, France

The closest airport to a Port-Grimaud property is Toulon-Hyeres (TLN), which is located within 50km, and receives Ryanair flights direct from London Stansted (STN). Alternatively, Nice International Airport (NCE) is around 90km away, but receives a great range of flights from airports throughout the UK. A hire car is not necessary, and you will not be able to park it within the complex anyway.
