The pre-historic ruins of Sa Gruta and Son Moro, although less famous and less visited than the caves, are also well worth discovery, and there are a number of fascinating Roman relics found throughout the town.

Porto Cristo beach is a beautifully sheltered, clean little beach just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. There are excellent facilities for a day at the beach, with sun loungers, pedalos and parasols in plentiful supply. However, there are over 27km of beaches in the Porto Cristo municipality, nine of which have been awarded the much coveted European Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety. Sailing and windsurfing holidays are particularly popular from Porto Cristo accommodation too.

There are some absolutely magnificent restaurants to visit in and around Porto Cristo, ideal after a day on the beaches or investigating the Caves of Drach and Hams. Overlooking the beaches, many hours can be spent trying local dishes and absorbing the atmosphere. If you would like to try your hand at cooking some of the dishes you are served, the weekly market in Porto Cristo is the best place to find fresh ingredients.

The beach resort of Cala d’Or is a huge attraction for visitors who love the beach life. The resort is scattered across the inlet, cove and cave strewn coastline of eastern Majorca, home to luxurious yachts, gin palaces and beautiful boats all year round. All the shops, restaurants and water sports centres you could wish for can be found in Cala d’Or, as well as beautifully secluded little beaches and fantastic walking routes.
