With Porto Petro being a traditional fishing village, this is also where you can sit back with a drink and watch the locals go about bringing in their catches – which will undoubtedly end up in the seafood restaurants later on that day.
Porto Petro is a quiet destination, and those seeking an active nightlife are looking in the wrong place. For the occasional night out, however, visitors can take a short taxi ride to neighbouring Cala d’Or, which is the busiest resort in this area of the island, and the home of luxury holiday accommodation and a number of top restaurants.
The use of a hire car is strongly recommended if you want to do more during the daytime than relax in the comfort of your Porto Pedro holiday accommodation, with a popular daytrip heading to the east coast and relaxing on its spacious beaches.

Villas in Porto Petro offer a great base from which to explore the east of Majorca. This area of the island is laid-back, peaceful and inhabited by friendly locals. The beach village of Porto Cristo (26km) is the epitome of this, with a picture-postcard bay area and a relaxed atmosphere. As previously mentioned, the busiest resort in this area of the island is Cala d’Or, which is just 7km east of Porto Cristo, and the best place to pick up food supplies.

The hottest time in the year in which to visit Porto Petro, Mallorca, is during July or August, when the summer sun is at its peak, and temperatures regularly exceed 30C. You do not have to visit the island during these months to have great weather though, and even the winter months often have sunny days of 15C or above.
Flights to Porto Petro, Spain
Porto Petro is an easy destination to get to from the UK, with all of the main airlines flying to Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI). The journey takes around two hours, with Ryanair, Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson Airways some of the busiest operators for this route. Porto Petro is 51km east from the airport.
