Places to holiday in Prague

Lesser Town on the slopes below Prague Castle was founded in 1257, and there are exquisite examples of architecture from almost every century since then. To start exploring, Lesser Square and Nerudova Street are central, and have a charm unsurpassed, in my opinion, by anywhere else in the city.

Josefov, or the Jewish Quarter, is a magnificent example of a Jewish settlement, which has developed over many centuries. The Town Hall, Pinkas Synagogue and The Rudolfinum are beautiful buildings all worth a visit from any of the self catering apartments in Prague.

The New Town, established in 1348 is the centre of art and craft, and despite the loss of much of the original fortifications, is a centre of services and facilities.

Things to do in Prague

There is a huge amount to do in Prague. From bowling to clay pigeon shooting, go karting to hot air balloon flights, white water rafting to quad biking, there is an activity to suit all interests from a Prague holiday apartment.

However, Prague is best known for the rich culture and history. The opera and theatre options from a holiday apartment in Prague are endless, and there are a number of world class restaurants serving everything from authentic Czech cuisine to Sushi. Prague Castle is one of many magnificent monuments in the Czech Capital, and there are numerous excellent tours of the main sights, often finishing in one of the famous old pubs!

Folk music still plays a large part in life in Prague. The Prague Spring International Music Festival celebrates the finest performing artists of all varieties, from folk to orchestral.

Weather in Prague

Prague enjoys a warm climate, with an average temperature in the summer of 24°C, although temperatures at night drop to 15°C, so wrap up if your are intending on taking advantage of Prague’s magnificent nightlife. Winters are cold, with average temperatures in January and February dipping to -4°C!
