Prapoutel is primarily associated with skiing, being one of the three villages which comprise the Les Sept Laux ski resort (the others being Pipay and Le Pleynet). This is one of France’s best resorts, with over 120km of ski runs reaching up to 2400m in height. The resort also has a grand total of 37 pistes, ranging from green to black, catering to all levels.

Snowboarders are also well-catered to, with a specially designed snow park featuring plenty of different obstacles. The resort also benefits from an impressive snow record, although there is an extensive network of snow canons fitted, so you won’t be disappointed even if the weather takes a turn for the warmer.

There is also plenty to do when you are not on the piste, with other outdoor activities on offer including snow shoe walking, cross-country skiing and the chance to spend a night in an igloo. A natural ice skating rink is also open throughout the winter.

The summer months are generally quieter in Prapoutel, but there is still plenty to keep families entertained. The spectacular scenery can be enjoyed on foot or mountain bike, with a huge array of different tracks in the surrounding mountains. Paragliding and hang-gliding are also available, as well as a water park and wellness spa.

The two other villages which comprise Les Sept Laux each also have their own character and are worth a visit during your trip. In particular, Le Pleynet has some fun additional activities for families including the opportunity to take a dog sled ride.

The city of Grenoble is also not too far from Prapoutel, with most visitors passing through en route to the airport. The city has some fantastic attractions, including the system of egg-shaped cable cars known as “Les Bulles”, giving a great view over the city landscape.
