The area around the old harbour makes for an enjoyable walk, and spectacular sights can be witnessed when the tide picks up and lashes in over the islands famous black lava sands.
On the outskirts of the city, Loro Parque is a popular tourist destination that is both a famous park and a zoo. The zoo lays claim to a number of world records, including Europe’s largest dolphin show, the longest shark tunnel in Europe and a huge parrot exhibition and museum.
