Those wishing to see the temple need not attempt to reach it on foot, or from the saddle though, there is a road you can drive!

These mountains are a hotbed of activity, and the warm thermals rising up past the summits mean that hang-gliders and paragliders can be seen floating majestically miles up in the sky regularly. Those wishing to see the region from the air have plenty of options, as there are a good range of flying centres to be found. The departmental capital, Clermont-Ferrand is a fantastic university town with a year-round buzz and a whole range of cafes, restaurants and bars to enjoy. Located right in the centre of Puy-de-Dome, Clermont-Ferrand is the cultural hub, home to the Roman museum of Musee Bargoin as well as the always impressive Cathedral Notre-Dame.
