The Chianti region is famous for its red wine, and Radda is part of the original Chianti Province that was first drawn up in 1716. The area is now part of the Chianti Colli Senesi wine region, and there are many wineries to be visited in the area. Most offer free tasting sessions, and you are able to go by yourself or as part of an organised tour. A number of shops within the village sell locally-produced wines, and sitting outside your holiday rental accommodation, sipping a glass of Chianti under the sun is regarded as the ideal Tuscan experience.

To accompany your wine (or line your stomach!) you will need some food, and Radda in Chianti boasts some friendly and authentic restaurants that sell great food at reasonable prices. Local favourites include La Bottega on Piazza della Torre, and La Peghera di Baccio on Via 20 Settembre.
