Wow what a place!

Holiday Gang Norfolk & West Sussex
Review Submitted: June 29, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
"Peering through the spray of the poolside shower the mediterranean glistened in the distance, framed by the hanging white walls of Frigiliana and the dappled groves of the valley"
Yes, pretentious, and that is exactly what this villa is, but in all the right ways........It's all been said before in the other reviews so excuse the first bit of tosh (but true).
The holiday gang included 2 x 2 adults + 1 child (3 & 6). Having a large upper terrace and good sized lawn at same level of pool allowed plenty of play area. There is a stair gate half way down and another for pool safety between the pool and the ground floor bedrooms (my only suggestion on this is to have stair gate at the top, on upper terrace). All the other facilities, layout and location, not forgetting the service from Chas were exceptional. This is a definite venue for the future holidays!

Owner's Response: We thank the 'Holiday Gang' for their kind Review and we look forward to seeing them again. We agree that the stair gate should be at the top and not down a few steps. This will be changed for next season.

Family Gathering

Travelling Girl Berkhamsted
Review Submitted: October 5, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We went as a family plus partners, with no young children. The villa was wonderful. We arrived in the evening to spectacular views and a sparkling pool. Instantly relaxed. The kitchen was well equipped and nice to be cooking and close to everyone else at the same time. The extra kitchen downstairs and additional fridge was brilliant for keeping all the additional "water" cool.

We found we had plenty of space for people wanting some quiet time and although we were worried at first how far we were from everything, it worked really well. The fiesta was on in Frigiliana whilst we were there and was good fun. We walked to a lovely restaurant up the road called La Venta and watched the flamenco dancers. Should have taken a torch for safety coming back but the walk took barely 15 minutes. (Book ahead though).

We went on a jeep tour locally too which was well worth the money as we saw sights you would never see from your car.

All in all a wonderful villa to relax in - clean, tidy and very well laid out.

Three weeks in February

Review Submitted: July 31, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
A beautiful and peaceful villa, with an excellent location for visiting Axarquia. The view towards the sea is stunning. We were two adults and one 14 month old child, enjoying a perfect holiday. This was a 5-star experience.

As the kid went to bed early, we were mainly cooking dinners at the villa, which was very nice. The kettles and cooking utensils would deserve to be updated a bit to get to the level of the rest of the experience, but we survived well and enjoyed every evening. Nerja, 20 mins down the road has good supermarkets. The best selection is in SuperSol, which also has free parking downstairs. If you start to feel deprived of a US-style shopping mall experience, Velez-Malaga has one, about 30 mins away.

In February the evenings are relatively cold, so you need to keep the heating on. There are enough heaters, but the fuses blow regularly unless the heaters are plugged in the right sockets, or if the aircon is used with the heaters. We used a floor lamp to find out the different fuse groups and after some testing found the right way to keep the house warm and the fuses on. This, obviously, is something that is of concern only to people who are lucky enough to be able to rent the villa in January or February.

This was a perfect place for three weeks, and we will remember our vacation in Villa Cereza for the rest of our lives.

Owner's Response: We thank 'ilkka, nina and topias' for their kind Review. The kettle and cooking utensils will be updated this Winter. We have also asked a qualified electrican to inspect and alter the wiring to the sockets so that the fuses do not 'trip' when all the heaters and air-conditioning (heating) are being used.

Wonderful family villa

Catzzz France/England
Review Submitted: July 9, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
The description of the villa was accurate and the location was superb. We were a party of six adults and eight month old baby. The pool area and terrace were perfect for our needs and the villa was well equipped. It was very hot when we visited and air conditioning in the downstaires bedrooms would have been nice. The agents were very helpful and a problem with the pool reported at 8pm was rectified before we got up the next day! The view from the villa is stunning and the surrounding area is very picturesque. We would recommend La Venta restaurant (nearby the villa) where the owner makes his own wine and olive oil and was very welcoming. We also liked Le Mirador restaurant, restaurant by the church and Bodega Pepe in Frigiliana, all in lovely settings. Only minor complaint was that we booked a cot but were provided with a travel cot with hard base and no proper mattress. We had a wonderful holiday in this lovely villa and would definitely recommend it.

Owner's Response: We thank 'Catzzz' for their kind review. We also apologise about the cot as it was ordered. The communication between us and our Agent was at fault and it will NOT happen again. The downstairs bedrooms are East facing, have ceiling fans and outside 'black out' blinds which limits the heat during the day.

Wonderful villa in a fabulous location

Popsy Sheffield
Review Submitted: August 24, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We had a fabulous week in this very comfortable villa. Every facility we wanted. The pool and outdoor layout is excellent. Can' t really fault anything, although we struggled how to operate the hob, but that's probably more to do with the fact that we only use gas!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car
Owner's Response: We thank 'Popsy' for their kind remarks and they have indicated they are considering booking two weeks in the Summer of 2009. With regard to the hob there are written instructions but they are obviously not clear enough. We will look at this in the Winter and make the appropriate changes.

Stunning Villa

Lorraine & Rob sevenoaks kent
Review Submitted: July 14, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Immediately striking for its location, design, vista and space. This villa is unbeatable if you want relaxation with complete comfort for your holiday. The views down to Nerja and the coast are stunning. Frigiliana is a 5 minute drive but too far on foot however the facilities and ambiance of the villa are such that you will be happy to spend the evenings on the extensive patio overlooking the pool and making use of the excellent BBQ and kitchen facilities. This is also a hillside restaurant just around the bend which is walkable in about 5 minutes - uphill!
The villa has all the necessities and more in the way of kitchen/cooking impliments/pool accessories/seating/sunbeds etc and is beautifully decorated and maintained both inside and out. The pool is large and not overlooked. In fact the villa itself is remote enough to give the feeling of being away from it all whilst at the same time within reach of all necessary services/shops etc. The bedrooms are spacious light and airy and all open up onto patio areas via french doors - three are ensuite with the fourth having the benefit of a shower room.

Owner's Response: We would to thank Lorraine and Rob for their kind Review. This was their second visit and we look forward to their next one.Taxis to and from Frigiliana are available 24 hours a day.

Beautiful villa

Binkyscamp Bath uk
Review Submitted: May 27, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2007
This villa is fabulous! We stayed here with my brother, his wife and some friends. Without exception we all agreed on the lovely location and excellent facilities. My husband and I had the master bedroom and I can honestly say that it was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in.It was also great to have an area to eat outsde which was undercover when we had a few splashes of rain. The layout is especially good for a group because it allows privacy when required. The kitchenette downstairs is also an added bonus for occupants who don't want to go upstairs to the main kitchen for a drink/snack/breakfast.The only(minimal) disadvantage that I can see is the need to take a taxi to Frigiliana (2ish miles)if you want to eat out and not worry about alcohol consmption! There is a rstaurant within walking distance but it is quite a trek in the heat and would be impossible in high heels.
On the whole I would thoroughly reccommend this to anyone who enjoys wonderful scenery in beautiful surrondings with excellent facilities. We will definitely return!!

Owner's Response: We would like to thank 'Binkyscamp' from Bath,UK.,for their kind Review and we look forward to their return visit. With regard to the distance from the Village of Frigiliana our Villa is in the countryside although in easy distance of shops, resturants etc and all the beaches. The Taxis in Frigiliana are readily available and will come to the Villa and pick customers up outside their resturant. The charge is modest, approximately eight Euros.
