We had a wonderful time during our weekend at this home. The listing was accurate regarding the house, space was more than adequate and it suited our group's needs just fine. The house was clean and orderly and had just about everything we needed, including plenty of space for our group of ten friends. Plenty of firewood for a nice cozy fire was provided. Although a bit crowded in the kitchen, we were all able to sit around the large dining table for dinner and breakfasts. We enjoyed cycling in the area through Quechee and Woodstock, and did a bit of shopping locally. Had a great lunch at the Simon Pearce Restaurant, and a lovely dinner at The Prince and the Pauper in Woodstock. I would absolutely recommend this house. Thank you Michael.

A Perfect Get-Away Long Weekend

Review Submitted: October 1, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
"A little piece of heaven" and "Cleanliness is next to godliness. " would best describe this "home away from home" in Quechee, VT.

Dear Michael,
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your clean and most comfortable home. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated. We found your letter to be very helpful as it acclimated us to your house and to the Quechee and surrounding areas.
Our "get-away" included lunch at Firestone's, massages at The Strong House, checking out the glass blowing and shopping at Simon Pearce, dinner at the Parker House Inn, a visit to the Fool-On-The-Hill, driving through the Dartmouth College campus, taking photos at The Quechee Gorge, shopping at The Fat Hat, lunching at Simon Pearce, shopping and lunching in Woodstock at The Woodstock Inn, along with venturing out to Orchard Fox Farms in Thetford, NH to check out golden retriever puppies and their "relatives". (We had previously "met" the puppies' "father" at the Fool-On-The-Hill.) Your property is highly recommended, especially for a "get-away from it all"-which it most certainly was!

Most sincerely,
Four RI Friends

Had a great time during our stay at your home. It is very accommodating for large families. Love the decor and layout. Never were we overcrowded with all the kids and adults. Great room for the kids to play or watch there own movies down stairs. There is plenty of room for everyone to keep busy, or not!! We found the Quechee Country Club and ski area very affordable, and loved it there. Also, went into Woodstock to explore the historic area! This lovely home is so conveniently located, yet very private. Can't wait to go back and enjoy it again.

Excellent Weekend

We had 6 adults and 4 children spend the weekend at your home and we had plenty of room and fun for all. Your home was spacious and just what we needed. We very much enjoyed tennis, swimming, golf and lunch at the Quechee Country Club. We enjoyed the town of Woodstock, visited the Simon Pierce showroom and enjoyed watching the glass blowing and pottery making. We even made some pottery of our own. We explored Quechee Gorge and panned for jewels and fossils at the Quechee Gorge store! We even ran Covered Bridges half marthon and all runners had a great time. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable - we loved your home.

Spacious Yet Cozy, Close to Everything

We really enjoyed our family weekend get together at this home. There was ample room for the 10 of us and it was luxurious to have four full bathrooms. We had several children with us and the kids enjoyed watching a movie and playing in the lower level playroom while the adults socialized upstairs. The house is clean and well-maintained and does not have any signs of pets or smokers. The house is located on a peaceful, wooded lot though it is close to amenities, restaurants, attractions, etc. Over the weekend we visited the Montshire museum (20 min away), Vt Institute of Natural Science (less than 5 min), Simon Pearce (5 min) the Quechee Club (10 min) and Woodstock (15 min). The owner is very pleasant and provides detailed directions. THere is lots of information on attractions at the house and the owner provides info on using the amenities and restaurant as his guest at the Quechee club. If there was one drawback it was laundering sheets and towels and remaking beds while trying to make the 10 am checkout time, but better planning on our part could have made this smoother. Overall, the rental and cleaning fee is quite low compared to similar properties in the area so this was not a bad trade off. I highly recommend this rental and would rent from the owner again.

Great for families

Review Submitted: January 10, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2007
Lots of space in this home. We stayed here during Dartmouth College graduation in June, and were very pleased that it was less than 20 minutes to either Hanover, NH or Woodstock, giving lots of options for restaurants. We had two families in the house, and there was plenty of room for the 4 adults and 4 kids.

There was a slight problem with the hot water in the master bath, but it could be fixed by now, because I mentioned it to the owner.

Check out Simon Pierce, which is nearby. Great food, and incredible displays of beautiful glass and pottery. Had our best meal at the restaurant, the day before graduation: if you want to eat there during Dartmouth graduation, you better call now for a reservation.

We'd stay there again; in fact, we have another kid headed up there to college, so we need to book for 2012!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review.
We are happy you had a good stay at our "home away from home"
Yes, the hot water issue is corrected.

We would like to let possible renters that Dartmouth graduation weekend usually books a full year in advance, so plan early!

We also fill up quick for Balloon Festival & Columbus weekends

We would be happy to provide you with future accomodations!
