We (2 adults, 3 children aged 10, 12, 14 and dog) found the apartment very welcoming, with loads of local info to browse through on arrival. The local info was very useful and accurate which we used a lot. The village has some lovely walks and wished we could have stayed longer to explore more. The location of the apartment is excellent for those who want to visit the Lakes for a relaxing time or a more active time in Blackpool of which we did both! We were impressed with the cleanliness of the apartment and that it had all the home comforts, and more, e.g welcoming provisions and the beds all ready made up. The Ship Pub we highly reccommend for meals out and also The Royal Oak (about 4 miles away). A very family orientated base to organise your holiday from. Will certainly try to go there again.
Owner's Response: Thankyou Alli and Bill. It was our pleasure, and we were both impressed by the dams the boys made in our stream! Ray and Sue

I can't remember what we googled to find this great property - but we were doing a university visit with our eldest to Lancaster. This home was very modern, well kitted out and very good value. The owners are friendly and couldn't be more helpful and accommodating. It was wonderful that we could book just 2 nights over half term. We plan to come back! The area is beautiful and warrants a lot more exploration.
Owner's Response: Our local area is totally stunning. This is an area which a lot of people pass by in a rush to get to the lake district; they are missing out on an unspoilt part of Northern England which is Historic, with varied scenary including a canal the River Lune, moorland areas and the coast. We have good local knowledge about walks and drives, which we will share with you through books maps, and a chat. We live here in North Lancashire, and want your visit to be happy and relaxed. Then like a lot of other people you may well come back!

Really fabulous accommodation - roomy, comfortable, terrifically fitted out - all mod cons. Superb location for Lancaster, Forest of Bowland, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. And really warm welcome (including bottle of wine!) and help from owners - including masses of information on local walking and sight seeing. Lovely pub next door. All-in-all - terrific (and real value for money).

Excellent stay

This charming apartment was within easy reach of Lancaster, and the village of Caton was delightful, with a wonderful walk to Crook o' Lune. Sue and Ken were warm, welcoming and helpful, and everything was as described in the posting: clean, pleasant, well-equipped, and well-maintained. There is a bit of a landmark at the turn - an oak tree so ancient we found postcards of it in the shops in Lancaster. There is a well-stocked Co-op store in Caton next to the post office, and the pub close to the apartment was welcoming and served tasty food. The accessibility of the apartment was good for our party member with mobility difficulties - no stairs or level changes, and the bathroom accessibility was the best we saw on our trip. I would absolutely book this accommodation again, and recommend it highly. Thanks for a great stay!
