Beautiful Apartment in Idyllic Location

The website description (Beautiful modern front-line studio apartment with stunning sea views) sums up this apartment perfectly. It was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there the previous year. Their description was absolutely glowing so when we first arrived our expectations were high. We certainly were not disappointed! We arrived on a beautifully sunny October morning and could not believe it when the concierge opened up the shutters. The apartment was bright, clean and airy and the view from the balcony was really spectacular. Even now, at the end of a particularly drab and dismal Irish summer, it is uplifting just to look at our photographs of the clear, blue Mediterranean, taken from the balcony. We ate breakfast on the balcony every morning with delicious croissants from the boulangerie just outside the apartment building. With regard to restaurants, we were absolutely spoilt for choice with so many excellent places within 5-10 minutes walking distance. In particular, we really enjoyed dinner with friends at Auberge de Provence which (I think!) is the oldest restaurant in Cannes. In addition to the designer shops, beach, harbour, restaurants, etc within the town itself, we found Cannes to be an excellent base from which to explore other areas in the region including Grasse, Monte Carlo, St Tropez, Eze and St-Paul de Vence.
We have already stayed 3 times in the apartment. During our first 2 visits we had the use of a hired car but found, on our last visit, that it was not really necessary as there are excellent bus and rail services to all of the main towns. The bus station is less than a 5-minute walk from the apartment while the train station is about a 10-minute walk. We also spent 2 leisurely days walking on the nearby islands of Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat (each about a 15-minute boat trip from Cannes).
The apartment is very clean and comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of DVDs in case of inclement weather! We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending it.
