We spent the first week of February in the apartment and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The flat is pleasant with good views, although you should be aware that you need to climb two flight of very steep stairs. The electric radiators are not an ideal solution for heating in winter months but we coped happily enough. Paula, the caretaker, is excellent and amongst other things, very kindly helped us with internet access and ordering taxies. Our experience of Portugal was very positive. Most people speak English (and don't mind speaking it), public transport is impressive (although the warnings about pickpockets need to be heeded: we saw several gangs at work), and there is plenty to see. Food is abundant and cheap, although it has to be said the general standard of "eatery" cooking is not too high. Our only negative experience on the trip was with the Sol Nasciente, a restaurant which is near the flat by the nearest 28 tram stop, and they tried to charge us 16 euros for some bread and cheese they gave us while we read the menu. This said, this was the ONLY bad experience we had as tourists in nine days of intense activity, which I think further emphasises what a good place Lisbon is to visit.
In conclusion, I would happily recommend the flat to anyone who wants to explore this interesting city.
