Majorca for "grown ups"

Carole,& John Bolton. Lancashire
Review Submitted: June 13, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
A "grown Up" Majorca. Not a beach holiday, although small coves & sandy beach in Port Soller within easy reach. Need a car to travel the windy coast roads.
Accommodation is a real "home from home" Very relaxed if you want to stay in, with a private terrace & sky TV & a dishwasher! But beautiful Deia has wonderful restaurants if you want to treat yourselves to luxury food within 5 minutes walk

4 days of bliss of Deia

We spent 4 days in this beautiful apartment this Easter.

This was the first time we rented an apartment instead of checking in a hotel and it was an outstanding experience. Our first reaction on finding the apartment was WOW. It is better and bigger than it seems in the pictures.

The apartment is located in a nice quiet residential locality & tastefully done.
It was clean and had a homely feel to it which made it so comfortable. The small terrace has some stunning views.
The best part was the location- it is just 10 mins walking distance to the supermarket, restaurants, bus station.
The walk to the nearest beach- Cala Deia is easy & enjoyable. And from there starts another, not so easy walk to Port de Soller. This 12km coastal walk is not very well marked but was worth it, as the views were breathtaking.
Also worth mentioning that the public transport is very reliable, all our journeys were on local transport- bus/ train/ tram including the one from airport to the apartment.

Our overall experience was Excellent. It was just the space we wanted to unwind & relax, away from the hustle-bustle. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a relaxing break in Mallorca.

Return to Deia

We have just returned from our second visit to Deia. My brother told us about this little jewel last year and we too fell in love with the village. This appartment is a wonderful base for exploring - it is clean, light and spacious. The owner has provided absolutely everything you need to make your stay comfortable rain or shine - we had both!
We enjoyed visiting the local restaurants- excellent choice of good quality establishments. The walks down to the cove were magical - my husband did the walk last year but I didn't. I now realise what I was missing! The walk back will keep you fit and give you an appetite for dinner. The views are magnificent wherever you look. We will be back. The coastal drive from Valdermossa to Deia is truly breathtaking.

Excellen Luxurious Apartment

We stayed at the Son Canal apartment during May and found it to be far outstanding than expected. The apartment was fitted with quality fittings and furniture and with large rooms. The terrace that led out from the dining area was very private. The weather was excellent whilst we were there but what made our holiday was the excellent restaurants all within walking distance. We are looking at booking further in the year. Excellent choice.

We have just returned from a 5 day break in Deia. The apartment is light and spacious - it's actually bigger than it appears on the web-site, which is unusual!! It's very well furnished and has everything you would need for a short or longer break. We felt very much at home there.
Deia is one of the most beautiful villages in Majorca, and it was lovely to be able to have meals out on the balcony, gazing at the beautiful view over the church and cluster of houses. I don't think I'd ever tire of looking out at the surrounding mountains.
It's very easy to walk up into the village for bread milk and croissants and other basics. We very much liked having a good choice of restaurants on the doorstep, without the need for one of us to drive!
There is a very enjoyable walk down to the beautiful Cala which goes past the apartment - not quite so easy coming back!! Lots of very enjoyable walks around, and visits to Valdemossa, Soller and San Moraig nearby should be on everyone's list!
We'd definitely recommend this apartment, and would go back at any time!!

Stunningly beautiful!

My husband and I rented this apartment for our honeymoon, and it was fantastic!
Beautifully furnished and decorated, it didn't feel like a rented holiday home... more like a home from home.
The terrace was brilliant for having breakfast in the morning, and so peaceful, with a beautiful view.
The visitor's book makes great reading for the nosey... lots of celebs spotted in the locality!!!
Easy walk to local shops, restaurants and bars, so you don't need to drive unless you want to go exploring further afield, and the Cala is breathtaking.
What a beautiful place for a honeymoon!

I'd rate my overall experience for this rental property as excellent, as it was truely a home from home experience.
The apartment was spacious clean and thoughtfully equipped, with everything for a comfortable holiday.
The views of the mountain from the terrace was truly magnificent. The short walk from the apartment leads into the little village, which had quaint shops, several bars, and restaurants, and a local bus service.
My main activity on this holiday was walking, as the scenery was very beautiful.
The walk from village to the beach via olive grove should not to be missed.
I would have no reservation recommending this property to friends.

So far we have visited this lovely apartment twice and definitely intend to be "regulars". The apartment has such a happy feel about it, you just know that it holds many lasting memories - just check out the visitors book for confirmation. It is beautifully decorated and has a lovely terrace with a stunning view of the church - even more magical at night. It is so convenient to walk to the local shop, restaurants and bars and you can even walk down to the Cala relatively effortlessly - it is the walk back that is a bit more taxing!!! I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is thinking of a holiday in this unique part of Majorca - but please don't book it the next time we want to go!

Herrliche Zeit in Deia
