Perfect relaxation spot

DTP862 Oxford
Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This is a tasteful, well appointed and relaxing cottage with comfortable, clean rooms throughout with plenty of linen. The barbecue and pool area are excellent and you will make daily use of them. The kitchen and living room areas are well equipped and fans are provided throughout if the heat gets oppressive. Our host was friendly and considerate and was available in case of problems of which there were none. The cottage and the garden are beautiful and we were happy to spend most of our time just soaking up the surroundings. Tall people need to get used to ducking through doorways! Original features have been retained and included in the restoration, such as huge grape crushing vats on display.
There is excellent access to the national Park De Garraf for active visitors and the nearest beaches at Sitges are easy to find - be careful of Spanish car parking spaces. Barcelona and Port Aventura are easy day trips from the cottage but be ready for toll roads in both directions.
We would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends.
Owner's Response: Thank you Helen and Darren - we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay and thankyou also for leaving everything so clean and tidy and for expert plant care! Hope to see you again one day

Kind regards
Jane

Stunning Property

This property was absolutely stunning and set in a beautiful location. It had loads of character and had been finished to a very high specification. It was extremely clean and had all the necessary items to live happily away from home. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We were traveling with a toddler and they provided all the baby equipment that was needed including a few toys and books thrown in.
We would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone travelling with or without children.

beautiful villa

We had a wonderful week at this beautiful villa. Fantastic location (about an hour from Barcelona and close to Sitges), nestled in rustic, hilly countryside. It really is a great place to get away from it all. The facilities are wonderful, and the proprietor (Jane - refreshingly not intrusive at all even though she lives quite close) has obviously pored a lot of love into this fantastic reconstruction. All mod cons, and everything finished to a very high standard. The pool and bbq were a delight also.
Would love to come back!

Delightful property with easy access to some wonderful walking country and not too far to drive to Sitges---one of the few places on the coast to the south of Barcelona with a little style .Owner helpful and solicitous and although the weather wasn`t warm enough in April for visiting the splash pool I could imagine it would be bliss for 4/6 months of the year--a real sun trap.
Visits to restaurants need a car but some excellent eateries available as recommended by owner.
Clean and well maintained I would be happy to recommend this property to a friend
Enjoy the National Park and only venture to the coast if the kids insist--even though they will love the sand and sea!

Where the Heart Is

Review Submitted: April 1, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2007
When I first stepped over and through the wall to this wonderful villa it reminded me of The Secret Garden. So rough a trail up the hill - so beautiful and lush inside the garden gate.

Photos do not do justice to this property which had my heart from my first glance.

Due to a sudden illness and subsequent death in my family I only got to spend 24 hours here - our second week of our time in Spain. But the few carefree hours I had here at Catalan Masia were the best of that vacation. I will return.
