Lovely holiday in beautiful apartment

Review Submitted: September 1, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We have just returned from a fortnight's holiday along with our daughters. I cannot praise the apartment highly enough, it really made our holiday. It is extremely spacious and very well equipped, everything has been thought of, even DVDs, books and games are all supplied, and there is an extremely good wireless internet connection.

We enjoyed sitting on the terraces, there is sun or shade as you wish throughout the day depending on which of the terraces you sit on, whilst our daughters enjoyed the swimming pool. I can recommend the L'Oasis bakery shop in La Napoule for bread and croissants for breakfast, they are really wonderful!

We hired a car and visited beaches and lots of towns and villages. We enjoyed Menton and St Paul de Vence particularly but it is such a beautiful area there is something for everyone. There was lots of traffic in some places and it was lovely to return to the peace of the apartment and golf course (and the very efficient air conditioning!)

It is a long time since we have been on a self-catering holiday, but the space and peace and general ambiance of the apartment we found preferable to many hotels. We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone and hope to return in the near future.

Luxury in Mandelieu June 2009

In June 2009 my wife and I spent a wonderful week in this beautiful apartment.

Having carefully read all the information about the apartment, provided by the owner, our expectations were high as we approached the security gates that guard the property, and we were not disappointed. Indeed we were delighted to find such a beautiful, well-equipped and immaculately presented apartment in such a lovely setting.

With three large en-suite bedrooms, a fully equipped modern kitchen and a spacious lounge all furnished to a very high standard this really is a most impressive apartment. The two balconies are equally impressive, the front balcony - with stunning views over the golf course to the hills beyond - runs the complete length of the apartment and our lasting memory of our holiday is having breakfast, lunch and dinner on this quiet terrace. The rear balcony with sliding doors from two of the bedrooms catches the afternoon sun.

The rental agents Claudine & David could not have been more helpful, ensuring that the handover on arrival and departure went smoothly. My thanks to David also for organising transport from and to Nice airport.

As we both really enjoy walking we decided that, on this occasion, we would not rent a car. We found walking walking from and to the apartment easy and safe. The local bus to and from the nearby "Geant" supermarket was excellent with a very pleasant and helpful driver. We can also recommend the local taxi companies.

There is an excellent choice of restaurants in the area and Sunday lunch on the patio of the golf club house - just a short walk from the apartment - should not be missed.

The owners made the booking process easy and pleasant with any questions answered promptly and being their second home ensured that every conceivable extra - from towels to a corkscrew - was provided.

So, would we recommend this apartment ? Yes, without hesitation. Would we book it again for ourselves ? We already have and we look forward to an Autumn week of luxury in Mandelieu.

Bill & Jean.

A great base for exploring Cote D'Azur. Sept 08

We spent a terrific week here with our 2 adult teenagers in September 2008 to chill out following a week in the centre of Cannes. It was exactly what we hoped it would be and pretty much as described.

Apartment was really impressive, with 3 large en-suite bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and spacious sitting room. Balconies were also good with main one having a dining table and catching the morning sun with a further one accessed through 2 of the bedrooms catching the afternoon sun.

Everything was exceptionally clean and high quality although keeping it this way might be uncomfortable with young kids.

Location is beautiful and very quiet but by car it is only 5 minutes from Mandelieu and 10 minutes from Cannes. Only the golf course and clubhouse are within walking distance so unless you are content to read by the pool and cook all your own meals, it would be difficult here without a car.

Golf course provided a lovely outlook but didn't inspire me to play. Good for holiday golf but might disappoint if you are looking for a serious golfing holiday.

Apartment is fairly new and well maintained and key facilities such as air conditioning and showers were of a very high standard as were the many appliances. Sky television is available although the number of channels subscribed to is limited. No wifi available although if you are desperate, this is available at the enormous Geant supermarket which is only 5 minutes away (by car naturally!).

Owner obviously stays here regularly and has created a diary of his and others visits to attractions and restaurants, which was really useful. Also has the apartment furnished with the essentials of easy living that if missing can make life in a rented property difficult e.g. bath towels, beach towels, dvd's, books, corkscrew, dishwasher tablets etc.

Communication with the owner was very effective. He emailed and telephoned promptly to respond to queries. Documentation was comprehensive and on-site support also effective.

Cannes and St Tropez are musts for day trips although be warned that in keeping with the whole area they are expensive and driving and parking are trying even for the experienced!

Dozens of good restaurants to suit every taste all over Cannes and throughout the surrounding area.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone looking for high quality, peaceful space and who is prepared to drive to find their food and entertainment.
Owner's Response: Full wifi broadband internet and email access has recently been installed and is available free of charge to all guests.

A Fantastic Find in the Cote D'Azur

We have rented many “Luxury” apartments in France, but this apartment really did provide us with a luxury getaway. It is clear that the apartment is furnished as a second home with all the necessities one would expect: good sized rooms (all ensuite) quality beds and furniture, good linen, towels, TV, DVD, and every cooking utensil you can imagine in a fully equipped modern kitchen.

The location of the apartment is ideal for exploring this beautiful part of France. The local beaches are 5 mins away all with good restaurants. We also explored a little further a field and spent a couple of afternoons living it up on the beaches of Cannes (10-15 mins) and St Tropez (1hr15mins). The villages of Mougins (for superb gastronomic food; and if the mood takes you there is also a great spa) and St Paul de Vence (where we bought some contemporary art: and the home of La Colombe D’or – book in advance) are also no more than 30 mins away.

The apartment had a recommendations book that helped us plan our days and meals out, but on a couple of the days when we didn’t explore the area, we relaxed by the pool (there are three in the complex to choose from), and ate on the long terrace overlooking the golf course next to the apartment. The local supermarket (5min drive) is a huge “Geant” that caters for every need, although there is a smaller “Casino” and smaller typically French patisseries, and markets close by too.

The admin in booking this apartment could not be easier. The owners are very pleasant and prompt in providing answers to all our queries about the apartment and the area (our deposit was also returned quickly). The apartment is also looked after by a local lady, who met us with the keys and was on hand for all our other needs offering information about where to go and what to do.

We will definitely be returning.

We had a most wonderful holiday in this apartment, it was just as advertised clean, well furnished and so comfortable , it was like being in our home not like an ordinary letting property. Great location on a golf course and close to beaches. Cannes and other parts of the Cote d'Azur are easily accessible.. There are fabulous restaurants, bars and shops including the supermarket all very near by.
The agent Caludine met us and looked after us very well.
Our deposit was returned promptly and we can't wait to book again, it was fabulous.

Luxury in Mandelieu

This is the first time we have rented a property for holiday use and we were not sure what to expect. The agent, Claudine, met us to hand over the keys and show us around. The apartment is spacious and very beautifully furnished as a second home, well appointed, with two terraces front and rear. The main terrace, which runs the length of the lounge, kitchen and main bedroom, overlooks a lovely golf course and the rear terrace is accessible from the two other bedrooms.
The location is excellent, just a 10 minute car ride to Cannes and about 25 minutes to Nice.
There is a wonderful supermarket, Geant, just 5 minutes' drive away and many superb restaurants of varying prices.
This was one of the most enjoyable holidays we have had and we cannot wait to book again.
The property was even better than we expected and the deposit was returned promptly.
