Expectations Fulfilled

Review Submitted: May 18, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We had high expectations of this property from the reviews and photographs, and we were not disappointed.

The booking process was easy. Liz was very helpful with advice on how best to get there, and even got us some initial provisions as we were arriving in the evening. Liz and John are on hand should you need them but are otherwise unobtrusive. They are also good fun; friendly, engaging, informative and exceedingly helpful.

The accommodation itself is lovely: clean, attractive and very comfortable. It is restful and functional, with a good outside area for al fresco eating or in which to simply to enjoy the sun. It is in a quiet and peaceful street convenient to the seafront, shops and buses to Palma or other locations, should you need them.

There is plenty of information on the area and Liz appears to have a comprehensive knowledge of where best to eat locally, according to budget and taste. It is advice worth following! As an added bonus, the apartment contains all you need but are loathe to carry with you, such as umbrellas, sun hats, books, dvds, and a large supply of towels.

Port Soller is really lovely when the sun shines and Palma and other neighbouring towns are easily accessible by car or public transport. The area is also popular with walkers and has a good selection of restaurants.

Despite some untypical weather (rain rather than sun), we had a really relaxing and enjoyable stay at Villa Nicole. However, it was the accommodation and the people we met, rather than the weather, which made the biggest, and best possible, impression. So thumbs up for Villa Nicole and for John and Liz. We can certainly recommend this property to others.

Lovely apartment in great location

Our stay in Villa Nicole was very enjoyable. The apartment was pleasant, clean, very well equipped (there were even toys for our daughter) and in a fantastic location just moments from the lovely Port of Soller.

John and Liz couldn't have been more welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. They even did some shopping for us before our arrival since we flew in late.

Would definitely recommend to others wanting a home from home getaway.

Yes, the apartment is as good as reviews say!

When I read other reviews on this property I wondered if it could be as good as everyone has said.Well.....it is!! The apartment is really well appointed inside and..out. We gave the barby a good go; and yes, Liz, the outdoor shower was in use a couple of times (the weather was warm/hot and sunny when we were there). In fact,we lived in the terrace area practically the whole week!! So, the property is exactly like it says on the site. Maybe even better. Liz helped us settle in (that cool beer was lovely!) and we shared a couple of drinks and good chat with John during the week.
Port de Soller proved a lovely wee spot. Good restaurants and cafe/bars all within about 3/4 mins of the apartment. And 3/4 supermarkets nearby for provisions. Note, the supermarket up the hill at the harbour is best for meats. We didn't hire a car. Used bus/tram/train to get around. Soller train and tram are an attraction in themselves, as well as getting you from A to B. Went to Valdemossa - monastry well worth visit. Soller market on Sat morning is good and lively. Plenty of opportunities for walks from town (see Liz's wee orange coloured book). But also a great place just to stop and stare with a coffee or a beer on your table! Would have no qualms about coming back to Port de Soller. If we do we will definitely stay in Villa Nicole!!
Many thanks to Liz and John for their hospitality. We just had the best time!!

This was the 3rd time that my family and I have stayed at Villa Nicole and it definately wont be our last. The property is situated in a quiet road in the village of Pt de Soller but is only 2 minutes walk from the shops, supermarket, bus stop to Palma and the famous 'lemon train' . There are no hills to negotiate which makes it ideal for elderly guests. The apartment is on the ground floor which enables easy access for anyone with disabilities, there is also a fantastic walk in shower!! The lovely garden in completely inclosed and is safe for young children. Everything you need is provided, right down to beach towels, which means more weight allowance for pressies to take back!! The apartment is unusually large, light and spacious and is perfect for family holiday. The kitchen is fully fitted to a very high standard and has every gadget you would have at home. I cannot speak highly enough of the warm welcome extended to my family by John and Liz, their local knowledge helped us get loads more out of the holiday.
Many thanks, Villa Nicole, see you soon!!

What Can I Add

What can I add to what as been said already. Villa Nicole ticks all the boxes. If you like walking, Port of Soller is an excellent base with lots of walks staring in the Port or in Soller. A car is not necessary unless you want to get to remote parts of the island. The bus stop is very handy and only half an hour from Palma, which has an excellent bus interchange. There are plenty of restaurants in the Port catering for all tastes and small supermarkets open most hours. A most enjoyable week.

The apartment was very good, and exactly what he had hoped it would be. It provided all the things we needed and was just around the corner from a very good small supermarket for all our other requirements.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and Liz made us feel very welcome.
I would certainly recommend it to other visitors as would I recommend Port of Soller.
The town is on a number of walking routes, which were all well signed and maintained, with superb views of the mountains.

We had a warm welcome on our arrival and the villa was exactly as described - clean, tidy and in good condition. It was well stocked with plenty of towels etc and even a few beers in the fridge! Our stay in Port Soller was really enjoyable with numerous high quality restaurants to choose from. There were lots of nice walks and the transport links meant that we didn't have to worry about hiring a car. Liz really looked after us and we would certainly recommend a stay at Villa Nicole

We stayed at Villa Nicole in October 2008 and were very impressed with the location and overall standard of the apartment. Everything you could possibly need was available. John and Liz make you very welcome and are so helpful. We would recommend this place to our friends. It is very close to restaurants and shops, a car is not needed. John and Elizabeth, Shannon

We have just returned from our third visit to Villa Nicole. As before, everything that you could need was provided and it was the perfect 'home from home'. Liz and John are so helpful and yet discreet. We loved the changes made to the terrace area and steps and because the weather was so lovely - we made good use of it! The personal touches like milk and water in the fridge are typical of the warm and friendly welcome from Liz and John. We always feel like honoured guests. As for the villa and it's location - it's perfect for those who prefer the quieter side of Mallorca. The villa is equipped with everything you need including beach towels, mats and parasols. Lovely restaurants to suit every taste and budget are a short walk away and the port is a very romantic dinner location. The mountains provide opportunities to walk as well as a dramatic back-drop. We love it and we hope to return again soon. Thank you again Liz and John - the perfect hosts.
