Top level accomodation and views

Visited start of July 2008 with missis, 2 kids (2 1/2 and 7) and the inlaws.
Like one of the other reviews I thought Villa Paradise was going to be too good to be true, but it is not, it really is that good. The villa in itself really is top class, fantastic spacious bedrooms with super comfy beds and air conditioning all round, an essential for the 40deg Greek weather and kids. Superb living room/kitchen/diner is open plan and incredibly light throughout, leading to possibly the best view on Lefkas, only to the top of the radar station (1000m) is possibly better, a hairy drive but worth it all the same. The huge viranda at Villa Paradise gives 270deg views from the property (mountains/olive groves/the sea) it also provides a massive entertaining area if going as a large family. Fantastic pool and associated garden with privacy and constant sun/shade as required throughout the day.
Good quality large bathrooms with all facilities and a washing machine! Comes in very useful indeed.
Nidri is a very nice but busy resort, an abundance of eateries on the sea front and main street, very reasonable priced bars (Tree bar at the Athos Hotel is a great place to hear some stories!), great late night shopping as well, late night supermarkets, everything you could ever need. Lefkada town also worth a visit.
Waterfall can be a bit low in summer season but deffinately worth the short walk from the car park (an excellent Taverna at the bottom).
In fact the whole of Lefkas island offers stunning scenery and towns. It is highly recommended to hire a car (with air conditioning!) to get the most from the island, I would not recommend expecting to walk up and down from Nidri to Villa paradise in high season.
Although we did not go any organised boat trips, a day out around the bay opposite Meganissi is well worth it, 10 dolphins greeted our slow chug out (no wind before the afternoon!) and put on a performance, excellent!
Do not expect an abundance of things to do with the children (no water parks/theme parks) unless you like beaches and the swimming pool, fortunately that kept ours happy, in fact it was hard to get them out of the villa at times!
A return visit, like virtually all who go to Villa Paradise, is now planned (if only Preveza was a bit better connected to English airports)
Highly recommended for a week of scenery, sun, sea, eating and relaxing. Top class.
