Villa Paradise - loved it!

Review Submitted: September 2, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This is a lovely villa and we would highly recommend it. The view from the terraces is even better than in the photographs. The living room/ kitchen is so spacious and the bathrooms are top quality. Our 3 daughters aged 23,21 and 17 came with us and they loved staying here as well. We hired a small motorboat for a day at 50 euros and this was one of the best trips of the holiday- swimming off the boat in the beautiful clear water was magic. Getting the sea taxi from Ai Nikitas to Mylos beach was worth it - amazing clear blue water to swim in at this beach.
We would definitely like to come back to Lefkada and stay at Villa Paradise. Ps you could just about manage without a car but it is much better to have one. The driving on this island was fine.

Clean, spacious, funny and relaxing, with all accommodation like washing machine (a modern Whirpool), microwave, dishwasher, large whirpool fridge with very useful icebox for your favorite cocktails to drink on the beatiful veranda :)
Garden is relly nice with good privacy.
Mr. Mahos was helpful and gentle.

The Villa Paradise was a lovely place to stay, it felt secluded, special and very relaxing with great views of the area. There was 6 of us staying there and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definatley recommend hiring a car, as the shops and bars are further than you think, although you do a taverna, 2 min walk which is very friendly and great when you need a cold beer!

Villa Paradise was paradise indeed! We really loved staying here. Afterwards we were a little spoiled and found it difficult to get used to other accomodation, which never is as good as Paradise. Lefkas is a beautyfull island with lots of things to do. And Villa paradise is the best place to get rid of any stress. It is really quiet and nobody can see you, when you spent you whole day in the pool. And the veranda with gorgeous view is the best place for sipping your campari-orange. We will definately try to come again! To celebrate holiday like it is ment to be!

Visited start of July 2008 with missis, 2 kids (2 1/2 and 7) and the inlaws.

Like one of the other reviews I thought Villa Paradise was going to be too good to be true, but it is not, it really is that good. The villa in itself really is top class, fantastic spacious bedrooms with super comfy beds and air conditioning all round, an essential for the 40deg Greek weather and kids. Superb living room/kitchen/diner is open plan and incredibly light throughout, leading to possibly the best view on Lefkas, only to the top of the radar station (1000m) is possibly better, a hairy drive but worth it all the same. The huge viranda at Villa Paradise gives 270deg views from the property (mountains/olive groves/the sea) it also provides a massive entertaining area if going as a large family. Fantastic pool and associated garden with privacy and constant sun/shade as required throughout the day.

Good quality large bathrooms with all facilities and a washing machine! Comes in very useful indeed.

Nidri is a very nice but busy resort, an abundance of eateries on the sea front and main street, very reasonable priced bars (Tree bar at the Athos Hotel is a great place to hear some stories!), great late night shopping as well, late night supermarkets, everything you could ever need. Lefkada town also worth a visit.

Waterfall can be a bit low in summer season but deffinately worth the short walk from the car park (an excellent Taverna at the bottom).

In fact the whole of Lefkas island offers stunning scenery and towns. It is highly recommended to hire a car (with air conditioning!) to get the most from the island, I would not recommend expecting to walk up and down from Nidri to Villa paradise in high season.

Although we did not go any organised boat trips, a day out around the bay opposite Meganissi is well worth it, 10 dolphins greeted our slow chug out (no wind before the afternoon!) and put on a performance, excellent!

Do not expect an abundance of things to do with the children (no water parks/theme parks) unless you like beaches and the swimming pool, fortunately that kept ours happy, in fact it was hard to get them out of the villa at times!

A return visit, like virtually all who go to Villa Paradise, is now planned (if only Preveza was a bit better connected to English airports)

Highly recommended for a week of scenery, sun, sea, eating and relaxing. Top class.

My little piece of heaven on earth

Beautiful villa with one of my favourite views in the world. Have been coming to Greece for 20 years and Nidri for around 15 and this is definitely the best accomodation I have ever stayed in.

The property is well kept, quiet and clean, Mahos and his wife are really helpful, and I can't fault the facilities, it simply has everything a girl & her children could ever want, and more. The garden and pool have both sun and shade all day, are not overlooked, and the combination of the location and those jacuzzi jets are totally stress-busting. Your holiday can be as active or relaxing as you like - total bliss!

When I first found it online it looked too good to be true - but the villa not only lived up to my hopes and expectations but exceeded them. In fact we loved it so much last year we are coming back again this August with Grandma and a friend in tow - and I am sure it won't be our last visit.

You can easily buy everything you want in town and there are several free car parks off the main street - don't be tempted to park on the main street even if the locals do, there is a traffic warden. Don't miss the bakers with baklavas and pastries to die for, our favourite half way along on the sea side of the main street.

We tend to eat breakfast and lunch at the villa and eat out evenings. The Taverna just a short walk up the hill serves great food and is good value for money with that gorgeous view again - and there is also plenty of choice on the waterfront in Nidri too which is 5 mins drive away, lovely atmosphere in the evenings and the children are so welcome everywhere.

Hire car needed for quick trips into town and to explore the fantastic beaches with aqua sea on the other side of the island which are stunning though not for swimming due to surf/currents - contrasting with the gentle 'safe' pebble beaches around Nidri. (Note : sea urchins have spines so do wear swim shoes).

The walk to the waterfall at the back of Nidri is also worth a visit as is the Monastry a short drive into the mountains.

Totally recommend Steve's Sunset and Stars boat trip for the best stargazing experience you've ever had (google uniqueexcursions). Kids also loved sailing on Odysseus (this and lots of other boat trips blue caves, bat cave, Kefalonia etc from waterfront) and the Greek evening with Mama on Meganissi (book in main street).

Very highly recommended! Enjoy - but please don't book 'our' week!

Villa Paradise, Nidris ****Excellent****

This Villa will take your breath away,it's clean, comfortable and safe for the kids. It's really quiet and the views are absolutely stunning and the location is good. It's only 5mins from center of Nidris by car which I would recommend to enable you explore the island. Definately visit the waterfalls behind Nidris.
The Taverna which is 2 mins walk up the hill serves excellent well priced food and Bill's bar just a little further up the hill run by an English guy is great.
My family and I had a superb week here in May 08, I would definately recommend hiring a boat for the day and exploring the local islands it will only cost you around 50 Euros but will certainly give you something to talk about when you get home!
The Villa owner Mahos and his Wife could not be more helpful and are really nice to deal with.
What more can I say, we will definately be re-booking in the near future!
