The cottage was in good condition, and we had a lovely time there. The only issue I have is that it states it's a 3 bedroom, but it's really a 2 bedroom. There is an upstairs play closet with a thin futon mattress on the floor, not sure if this is what they consider a 3 bedroom, but there are definitely not 3 bedrooms. Overall it was a very nice stay and I would go there again.

Henry and Jan thank you so much for sharing your delightful home, We found the listing to be accurate, and met all our expectations and more. How can four weeks go bye so fast. This is a perfect spot, it has all the comforts of home and more. The Autumn leaves have been spectacular Big Canoe is busting with color, There is so much to do in Big Canoe. We especially enjoyed going to see the Upper and Lower waterfalls, with our cockapoo Sophie. It is just right down the path at the back of the house, a five minute walk. Beautiful! There is nothing lacking as far as cookware,utensils. The dishes, glassware (beautiful wine glasses) are all first class, down to the fluff white towels, even flannel sheets for the cool nights. We had an ample supply of firewood for those cozy nights by thye fire. It's been terrific exploring the area, the Apple Festivals, Burt's Pumpkin Farm, wonderful restaurants,Mexicali Joe's/B.B.Q, Country Club in Big Canoe. There's Dog Woods Boarding Kennel, just a few miles down the road, they offer doggie day care which was great benefit for us, and Sophie on those all day adventurers. It's been terrific. We highly recommend Deerfield Cottage. If you love beauty and tranquility it's right here.

When I called Jan on my arrival date she had me arriving on a different day altogether (even though we had a contract). She told me I would not be happy as her home was hit by lighting 6 dys before I arrived (although all the service people told me the lighting storm was 2 wks earlier). She told me everything was fixed except a screen door, washer, and stove which she said we would work out financially because I would be without these items for 3 days. When I arrived at the house we had no washing machine, stove, internet, tvs (4), and the list goes on. I did make a list and contacted Jan. None of the tvs worked although I was told they were all replaced, the Internet did not work, the smell in the kitchen was outrageous and disgusting, the gas grill did not work (the button would not ignite) and it was caked in old food and grease, there was a huge rip in the screen on the porch as well as the door hanging off of the frame and massive holes everywhere, the hot tub room was full of huge spider webs, leaves and candle wax were all over the floor, the upstairs bed spread had stains on it, most of all of the towels were spotted and stained, the bed in the second bedroom upstairs was slanted by the head of the bed and it was like sleeping at a 45 degree angle (the frame was broke), the light in the bathroom upstairs shower did not work and the light over the kitchen table did not work, and the sleep sofa was terrible and all you could feel were springs. I must say I was extremely disappointed with how everything was handled. I made my reservations well in advance so everything should have been clean, comfortable, and fresh. I would also like to add that I felt it a bit uncomfortable having to waste time out of our vacation to be home for the cable man, the electrician, and for the delivery of the stove and the washing machine. It should not have been us waiting for things to be fixed or delivered at this rental property. I did write a letter to Jan, the owner of Lewin Properties, but my email was completely ignored.

I was extremely upset that I was not called in advance and made aware of what had happened. I do not feel like I should have walked into such a disaster and I just think it would have been more professional if I was contacted in advance and I could have made other arrangements for my family.

Please do yourself a favor and do not rent from Lewin Properties.

Three bedrooms, no not quite. Two bedrooms with a loft that is open and not private with two sleep sofas. Misleading.

Property needs some TLC. Kitchen needs to be equipped better. Screening outside porch needs to be fixed. Upholstered items need cleaning. Master bedrm. spread badly stained.

We did not even have a day of supplies provided.

Amenities in the area all cost money other than hiking trails. $$$$ Pool, lake, gym, boats are yours for a charge.

I could not recommend this property.

We truly enjoyed our stay at your Big Canoe home. The cottage is very comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We loved having our coffee in the morning out on the screened in porch and watching the deer. Thanks for the wonderful accomodations.
