Great Experience!

The apartment was accurately described and certainly met our needs. It was clean, well-maintained, quiet and comfortable. The location was great and within easy walking distance of public transportation. The owner was very warm, friendly, and helpful. I would most certainly recommend this property to a friend and would enjoy returning to stay there again.

Best New York Accomodations Yet!

Best New York Accomodations yet!

We've stayed in many different places on our trips to NY, and this apartment was by far our favorite! The apartment had a warm, welcoming vibe, and we felt right at home from the minute we stepped in. The apartment was clean, surprisingly spacious (in comparison to most placed in NY), and had great art sprinkled throughout the rooms. Everything was very comfortable. The king size bed had a ton of pillows, we sunk right into the couch and I even slept on it one night, and the pull-out couch that our friend slept on in the second bedroom was probably the most comfortable pull-out I've ever felt because we could adjust how firm or soft we wanted the mattress to be.
The location of this apt was also a highlight. We were close enough to walk to Time Square and Broadway for shows, but situated far enough out of the tourist scene for
noise and commotion to not disturb our late evenings. Also, we discovered a path just a couple blocks up from the apt that led towards the water and continued up through a park. I highly recommend anyone who stays in this apt to take some time and explore this quiet side of NY. The sunset over the hudson was especially beautiful.
Lastly the owner we spoke with on the phone was especially friendly and a joy to talk with. She answered all my questions and gave some great suggestions for places to check out in the neighborhood. She was also very professional in explaining the fees and handling our confirmation and transactions.
If your headed to NY this is the place to stay. After numerous places and housing experiences in NY, my mind is at ease knowing that when I plan my future trips to NY I already know where I want to stay (I just hope it will be available).

Amazing Apartment...Amazing Owners!

I have visited NYC quite a few times and was fed up of overpaying for tiny hotel rooms that have no real New York City feel! Therefore, I decided to rent an apartment and spent approx 4wks researching and trying to find a luxurious apartment, in a great location, with two separate bedrooms and for a reasonable price! Not a very easy brief, until I came across this apartment.

Maria (the owner) is fabulous; she was so helpful and during the booking of the apartment ensured the process was efficient for us both. Marie also rang us when we arrived to make sure everything was ok, and was only at the other end of the phone if we had any questions or issues (which we didn’t). Marie is also very flexible (unlike some other apartments) so because we were flying out late on the day of departure and she didn’t have another guest staying that night, allowed us to leave late on in the day at no extra charge!

We arrived at the apartment, picking the keys up at reception, and then we were WOW'ed by what was waiting for us! The apartment is very very very spacious, very well designed and clean! It was like being at home!

The main bedroom has the most comfortable bed, a large en-suite and also a walk in wardrobe!

The other bedroom again, has a very comfy bed (according to my friend) and is situated right next to the main bathroom so more or less has an en-suite!

The living room has a lovely big couch, perfect for stretching out on at the end of the day after walking around NYC! Also there is a good selection of DVD's and the cable had more channels than Ive ever seen!!!!

There is also a small dining area off the living room which has wonderful views (as does the living room) this was ideal for setting up the laptop and making the most of the free wi-fi!

Kitchen again, is well stocked with all the necessities and as there is quite a few supermarkets close buy, ideal for making snacks/breakfast!

The apartment is located in the upper west side, approx a 20 min walk to Times Square or ten mins to nearest metro station. The location is ideal, its quiet of an evening but only a stones throw away from all the glitz of NYC.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment for a stay in New York, we we’re there for 7 nights and didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be booking again next year (or sooner I wish!) and can’t wait to return!

Thanks again Maria! xxx

Nothing Special

Review Submitted: April 7, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
The first thing we had to do was clean all the crockery, cutlery, glasses etc., to remove food deposits left by the previous occupiers. To be fair to them, they were probably hampered by the fact the kitchen light was out and they no doubt had as much success as us operating the quirky dishwasher, whose soap dispenser wouldn't close or open, depending on what you wanted it to do.

Most of the towels provided had obviously been washed at some point with a red one that had left them (and us) covered in red flecks. Perhaps the person responsible was a previous guest, as prospective occupants should be aware they are expected to launder all linen etc. before they leave or face the prospect of a $25 surcharge, despite paying a cleaning fee, anyway.

We have rented many apartments in the States and elsewhere and have never been expected to do the laundry! These renters, however, claim it is common practice.

Do not pay much attention to the fact the building has a concierge, as you are supplied with explicit instructions not to trouble the doormen.

And finally, there is the matter of the building works a few yards away from the master bedroom, which start up at 7am every weekday morning and look set to continue for a good while yet.
Owner's Response: Truly sad about these comments , we have been welcoming guests from all over the world for a little more than 5 years and never had a bad review!

Most of our guests became friends after coming back several times, at least we hope and strive to make them feel at home!
If something is not exactely the way our guests expect or something is not working etc.. we encourage them to call us right away, in order to come and fix it!
I only wish our unhappy guest would have told us on the spot! We would have immediately send someone!

The apartment has absolutely everything you could hope and need and by NY standard is huge and extremely comfortable.
No one should ever have to clean at one's arrival which we try to make as easy as possible.
It does happen that light bulbs blow and we do have a supply on the front closet for our guest ! if our guest do not wish to change them , we could, if they call us, send someone right away, same , once again with any maintenance issue!

We charge a $175 cleaning fee with the possibility of a $25 discount if the guest accept to clean the linen ( it is absolutely not mandatory, it helps us and to show our appreciation we offer a $25 break ).
We do not ask for taxes or hidden fees and everything mentioned above is explained in writing to avoid bad surprises!

We had to explain to our guests that despite the fact that the building looks like a luxurious hotel with a concierge 24/7 or doorman 24/7 it is above all a private residence, doormen would not behave as they would in a regular hotel. ( they are though very friendly and helpful when we are nice and courteous with them !)

as far as constructions is concerned, New York is always on the move! it is pretty much the case for all big cities, there is some noise around, that is also part of the attraction, something is always happening! our neighborhood though, even being right at the center of everything is rather calm and peaceful , especially at night but above all extremely safe!

Louis and I will be very happy to answer all the questions our future guests may have about our place!
and once again in the eventuality of problems,a phone call and we would fix it immediately for you!

Nice Location

Due to the busy schedule during our stay in NY, we did not have the opportunity to use and see all the amenities listed for this property. For this reason, it is not possible for us to make a better and complete review of the unit and building facilities. However, we are very satisfied with the location.
