Reviews of Property: Amazing Cottage in Daytona Beach - Totally Private Pool - Minutes from the Ocean

My wife and I stayed at the Starfish cottage late September-early October. I must say we were thrilled when we opened the door. The house was like we were staying in our own vacation home. The furnishings were outstanding. Every detail you can imagine the house had. The sheets were high end, the towels, the dishware, everything was top of the line. It was decorated in a beach cottage theme, but without being tacky and over done. We have stayed in many beach rentals and this is the only home that we plan on returning to. Many of the other rental homes we have stayed in just put in the bare minimum. The Starfish Cottage is turn key, just bring your clothes and buy some groceries, you dont even need anything thing else. The wireless internet worked great and the house even had cable in every room. Now the backyard is a whole other story. It was the awesome, complete and total privacy. It was like being in a tropical paradise which happens to be in Florida. The pictures dont do it justice. I believe there is a video on youtube of the backyard, i highly recommend checking it out. Our stay was perfect, the beach was just a few quick moments in the car away, I recommend parking on Neptune Drive, it was free and we always found a parking space. Ormond Beach is not at all like Daytona. It was very residential, more private, upscale, and lesss congested. But if Daytona is what you are looking for, its 5-10 minutes down the main road. We felt safe in the neighborhood and being a car nut, i felt more than comfortable leaving our BMW roadster in the driveway, which is also fenced in with an adorable white picket fence. If you are unsure of the property email the owner and discuss it with them. They were very easy to deal with and get ahold of during on stay with any questions no matter how small we encountered. I normally dont write reviews but this property doesnt seem to be getting the attention it deserves and anything I can do to ensure it remains a rental for purely selfish reasons i will do. One last quick addition was our security deposit was refunded to us without my solicitation within a few days of us returning to our home in Charlotte, NC. Please consider this your next vacation home away from home.

Me and my family had a wonderful time at the cottage this summer. Everything we could possible need was available for our use while at the cottage. I have never stayed t a house for vacation like this one that anticipates your every need while staying there. I loved the backyard and pool area. It was like a lush paradise. I didn't even want to go to the beach as I enjoyed listening to the waterfall while in the pool. The inside of the cottage is beautiful and very welcoming when you first walk in the door. It has a romantic feel. I would definitely recommend this rental to friends and family. Thank you for such a great experience this summer. Me and my family will remember this vacation for years to come.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! What else can I say. The cottage gives you the old florida feel with all the modern conveniences. And to top it off your own private oasis just out the back door. We can't remember a more enjoyable and peaceful vacation. We rented for a week and then couldn't leave. We spent 2 more days. Everything in the add was on the money. No disapointments at all on arrival. We are telling everyone we know where to go for a beautiful vacation.

Just returned from our 2nd stay at Starfish cottage; even better than the 1st time we were here.
Cottage is extremely comfortable; almost all the amenities of home. We hope to spend many more vacations here. Fenced yard is really a plus for our Yorkie!!

We stayed at the Starfish cottage June 2009 and loved it! The owner has very easy to work with and made arrival a breeze. THe house is decorated very nicely and has a very well equip kitchen area. We have two children, 11 and 4, and they loved the pool area. The grill was great to have also. The beach was only a mile away but the house is still in a residential area. I would defiantly stay there again.

I can't say enough about this place......beautifully decorated, wonderful heated pool with waterfall feature and gorgeous landscaping, and fully equipped home with designer linens, dishes and cookware, upgraded appliances, washer and dryer and even a doggie door. Our family was excited to get there and so sad to leave. Our 5yr old said "I wish we could live here forever". That is how comfortable this house is. I typically can not sleep away from home and I had no problems here. The neighborhood is quiet and convenient to anything you would want; fresh seafood at Hull's, beaches, shops, entertainment, etc. We will be back again and again!

We were at Starfish Cottage June 28-July 11, 2008 & had a fabulous time. The Cottage is just perfect & very well equipped, very clean with lots of extras not necessarily found in other vacation homes. Everything you could possibly want in a vacation home is here. The location is in a quiet residential neighborhood, very convenient to dining & sightseeing. Really nice pool area & front yard is fenced as well, especially nice for our Yorkie. Would definitely recommend this home to others.
