We had a wonderful time, it was so fantastic to just cross the road to the beach, the kids loved it ! BM London

My parents had a lovely time in your great apartment, it was so easy to get into town and they loved the restaurants nearby. They want to go back next year too. TP.

All the family had a great time, we got to see the best of Dublin and loved walking on the beach and hav a barbeque in 'Our' garden one really hot evening. The apartment was spotless and was very well equipped. We will be recommending you to our friends. KS.

We were delighted as soon as we arrived, the location is second to none and the apartment was large and nicely furnished...it was exactly as described. you can see care has been taken by the owners to ensure guests enjoy their stay.

A great place to stay

I stayed in this apartment for over three weeks and I loved every minute of it. I cannot understand Aussie Dolly's review. Firstly the house faces Sandymount Strand which has a sandy beach, lovely walks in an adjacent nature reserve and looks out to Dun Laoghaire to the South and Howth to the North. The view is really lovely and cheerful. Secondly the owner, Iverna Hynes, couldn't have been more helpful, obliging and friendly. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you could wish for and when some American friends stayed over and asked for a coffee maker she went out and bought a new one for them. There was a caffetiere in the apartment but Iverna Hynes understood that American clients prefer a proper coffee maker and so provided one immediately. Thirdly with regard to car parking, nowhere in any of the descriptions does it say anything about private car parking. Infact the description makes a point of saying "on street parking" of which there is plenty. Because the house is so large there is room for three cars at the front and at least five to the side. As this is such a prestigeous area you just know your car is safe. The next point is that the apartment is on the ground level (there is no basement) which means it has its own garden and private entrance. It's more like a little house than an apartment and the feeling of space is incredible. Because it's a period house, the rooms are quite large and there is plenty of room for everything. The "gate leg" table referred to by Aussie Dolly is a neat little table which is in keeping with the style of the apartment. It's perfect for the room. All in all this is a first rate apartment and one I have recommended to all my friends. Those who stayed here have exactly the same comments to make as I do and they in turn have recommended this property. The next time I'm staying in Dublin I sincerely hope one of the apartments is available as apart from being a spotlessly clean, well maintained, roomy place to stay, it's always a pleasure dealing with the owner, Iverna Hynes.

Review of the Mews at Seaview

Review Submitted: February 21, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2008
Great location right on Dublin bay, lovely views within walking distance of the pretty village of Sandymount with it's amenities and nice restaurants and cafes. Lovely to walk along Sandymount strand and hop into the centre of Dublin, Howth, Dun Laoghaire and Bray on the DART. Very spacious, bright, clean apartment which is well equipped with a private garden. Very close to both ferry terminals at Dun Laoghaire and Dublin port and with the new port tunnel the Mews is very convenient to Dublin airport.Close proximity to the city centre and by the sea makes this an ideal apartment for your visit to he capital of the lands of saints and scholars! Also the very friendly warm hospitality that you receive from your host only makes your stay even better. We keep going back! Fully recommended

My week in Dublin

PhilipM Nanaimo, BC, Canada

I was looking for a comfortable, safe, and convenient location in Dublin, and I was not disappointed. The accomodations were as described, and Iverna was extremely helpful, despite our early arrival. The two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and parlour were clean, and well maintained. We were very pleased to discover how convenient this location was to the airport, the city centre, and access to highways. The proximity to the beach and Sandymount shopping was very pleasing. Iverna was very helpful with suggestions, and we were made to feel very welcome. Having our own backyard, complete with barbecue (not that the weather permitted its use), seating, and clothesline, made us right at home. It's location also made it very easy to visit family members living in Dublin and outlying areas. While parking is not provided, we never had any difficulty finding parking in close proximity. I would highly recommend this rental, and would make use of it again if travelling with others.

Seaview Appartments - long term stay

David and Sylvia Whitwick, Leics, England
Review Submitted: January 22, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2008
The property is situated 5 - 10 minutes walk from Sandymount and all amenities including cafes, restaurants. pubs and a range of shops as well as a medium size supermarket where almost all products are available. Access to the dart (local rail network) makes the accomodation ideal for those who do not necessarily have their own transport.

It is worth noting that the property is on Dublin Bay and although the lower apartments do not have actual sea views, there is the obvious beneift of easy access to the beach.

The accomodation comprises entrance hall, living room with medium size sitting area and small dining area off which there is nearly separate cooking area, as well as two bedrooms. This was entirely consistent with the view obtained from the website, however it is worth noting that the master bedroom is spacious and is certainly larger compared to our initial expectation.

Spacewise, the accomodation would suit those with a family with the added bonus of allowing pets since the owners are more than happy to accept a well behaved animal (or two).

Only the kitchen area is small but is fully equipped and would be expected to be perfectly fine for those on a short break. Even longer term as in our case (ie approximately 4 months) with the majority of meals prepared in the appartment this did not present a problem. Faclities for cooking and washing laundry etc were satisfactorily catered for.

At the rear of the property, each appartment has access to it's own small garden area which is fully enclosed and should be perfectly safe for small children (and any pets).

The owner is generally only a telephone call away and usually can give immediate and friendly assistance should any be required.

Overall, the accomodation was clean and cosy even on a dark winter's night and the facilites are all that we would consider necessary for a stay of any length. We would certainly recommend this propoerty for anyone wishing to visit the Dublin coast area, particularly those with well behaved 'four legged' family members.

Wouldn't stay here again!

We stayed in this accommodation for a week in Aug-Sept, 2008 and while it is very handy to Dublin it is really basement accommodation and not as bright and airy as it looks on the website. There is a musty smell about the place and particularly in the kitchen. The bed in the main bedroom is long past its use by date and very uncomfortable. The gate-leg table in the lounge room, the only place to sit down and eat, is very uncomfortable and difficult to seat 3 adults let alone 4, there is just not enough room to get around it. There is also no clothes dryer just a line outside. As it rained a lot we had to ask for a clothes airer (but there was a problem with us leaving wet washing on it, something about damp going into the walls). There were no instructions for the heating so we were just stuck with the settings that the heating was on. The lady who owns the place lives upstairs but if you ask her for anything it seems to be a bother. Lastly it is advertised as beachside accommodation but is infact overlooking tidal flats, not very appealing, with a major industrial area at the other side of the water. Also the only car parking is on a very busy street at the front of the property. I would suggest you find somewhere else to stay.
