Enjoyed our stay, quiet for the most part and relaxing. If you're used to king size bed, the bed may be a little small but that's better for snuggling. Appreciate your hospitality when we met.
Thanks.
Jack and Diana
P.S. Yes, the fish is good at Tackle Box 2!

The property was very enjoyable to stay at and wish we had more time. Being from the East Coast we found the area very quiet and friendly. The river provided great views of the sunset and very still mornings.
The cottage was very comfortable, quaint and slept two nicely. We also rented the small cottage to the rear of the same property for two more people and also found that very nice.
If anyone is interested in a quiet & friendly stay I suggest you look no further.

Quaint Cottage

Texas123 San Antonio, TX
Review Submitted: July 14, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This cottage is very clean and recently remodeled. The 2 bedrooms are small, but comfortable. There is plenty of seating available and the kitchen is stocked with pots and pans. There are no kitchen "staples" provided, such as sugar, salt & pepper. You will also need to bring your own toiletry items other than toilet paper. I did not experience any problems w/ the septic system but there is a notation about flushing "flushable" feminine products. The area is experiencing a revamping, and while there are still homes in disrepair, the area this cottage is in has been well maintaned. We had acccess to a garage filled with bikes, and the ever so popular "cornhole" game, and grill. There is a small playground within walking distance, and all the neighbors are very friendly and helpful. Many docks are in disrepair, but we had access to 2 that are well maintained and a nice deck w/picnic table that overlooks the river. Plenty of catfish to catch & release-or not, and we spotted several blue heron. This cottage is just a short distance from popular attractions such as Put-In-Bay and Cedar Point. ***If visiting in the summer make sure to bring insect repellent!***

Clean Cottage / Quiet Location

IL Family of Four Plainfield, Illinois
Review Submitted: June 19, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Our family likes the quieter areas to stay, and this was a very quiet location. Cottage was perfect for 5. Very clean rooms, kitchen, living areas--comfortable and cute. A great location for the kids to roam a little--they were thrilled to get out and take a walk, hang out on the dock. Cottage had everything we needed (towels, dish soap, etc.) which was a convenience when traveling.

Rt. 6 was closed, and with the detour, it took 45-50 min. to get to Cedar Point. If traveling that way, you may want to check the Rt. 6 construction update to plan your drive time.

Linda Bishop was so nice to work with. Quick responses and very respectable. Would book again if heading to Cedar Point in the future. Very economical, great value!

Very quiet, Peaceful, Close to Everything

Location, location, location! This cottage was perfect for just me and my husband; we were looking for something clsoe to Cedar Point but easy on the budget. The cottage is SO easy to get to, and close to everything, while still maintaining that country feeling out on the river. Great catfish fishing, too!
The interior is really clean and bright with all the windows in the sunroom. New kitchen is great, so convenient not to have to bring utensils and linens. We definitely recommend this to anyone, and will probably be back in the future!

Owner's Response: We are working very hard to maintain nice, clean family oriented cottages at reasonable prices. The rural area is lovely especially if you enjoy wildlife, but close enough to enjoy all of the surrounding activities like Cedar Point, the islands etc.

We loved it

We were a little apprehensive when we turned on the street, but then we got to the cabin and it was as described “A Quaint River Front Cottage”. The cottage was immaculate. It was odor free and very clean. Amenities were as described and was all there. Looks exactly like posted picture, and on the lake.
It was an easy 30 minutes drive to Cedar Point which took us past Toft’s ice cream, a must have. Play ground is at the end of the road. Neighborhood seemed safe and quite, I felt fine having my 10 year old ride the neighborhood by herself.
Owners are very friendly and helpful. There assistant who lives less than ½ mile away is also very friendly and helpful, she makes cookies and brownies to die for – a must have if you are ever in the area.
The only draw back to the cottage was the shower stall is a little small, and no cable TV.
Excellent value for your money, no hidden cost, no cleaning fee. If we vacation in the area again we would definitely stay there again.
P.S. Skip the African Safari, definitely visit Put-In-Bay island.

Owner's Response: We are working hard to provide a nice family oriented vacation at a reasonable price so we are pleased when we get such great comments from our customers. This is our 4th season and every year we have added a new cottage so we have 3-4 that people can choose from. Our location is away from it all and very peaceful.

Relaxing Place

PES Louisville, KY
Review Submitted: August 19, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
My family and I spent a week in this cottage recently. There are 5 of us and it was a little tight, but still worth it. My children are 11, 9 and 7 and they were able to ride bikes, go fishing of the dock and play at the playground with little supervision. This area appears to be a weekend retreat for locals as there were more people about on the week ends. This cottage was very quiet and peaceful. Being able to look out at the Sandusky river was very calming. This would be a great place, if you had your own boat. We did not and there was no place close to rent one.

The bedrooms a quite small, just big enough for a bed and dresser. The beds were very comfortable. The TV was small and had only 3-4 channels and no DVD or VCR. So, if you like relaxing with movies or TV, this is not a good choice.

We would recommend this unit as it was close enough to Cedar Point, Soak City and Lake Erie to be convenient but far enough to get away from the crowds. East Harbor State Park beach was fantastic with shallow, warm water. The town pool in Freemont is 0 depth pool with 2 large slides that my kids enjoyed.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful comments and helpful input about our cottage. We are fairly new at renting out vacation properties and will definitely be getting a bigger TV and DVD etc. for the 2009 season. Your comments are very much appreciated.
