VACANCES INOUBLIABLES

Review Submitted: November 18, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008

Lovely villa for a fantastic family holiday

Review Submitted: September 10, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Our party consisted of 4 adults and 5 children - aged from 3 to 9. The villa was very spacious, clean and well-equipped for all of us.
The villa is an excellent place to stay with children and I would recommend it to anyone with a young family. The kids loved the pool and made good use of the inflatables that were available at the villa.

The area surrounding the villa was quite rural but with a car it was very easy to get to lots of beautiful beaches and interesting towns. The local beach, Praia Verde was lovely and unspolit and has a very nice restaurant right on the sea front.
We also enjoyed day trips to the towns of Tavira and Real Villa. A short boat ride from Tavira takes you to the beautiful island 'Ilha de Tavira' which has a lovely clean beach and restuarants.

The villa is situated very close to the Spanish border and there is a lovely spanish town, Ayamonte which can be easily reached by car or by the ferry from Villa Real. Also a bit further into Spain is an excellent water park which the kids loved. It's a bit pricey but worth it as you will probably end up staying there all day!

The service we received from Bonnie and Barry was excellent and made organising our stay at the villa very easy. They provided excellent directions to the villa and very useful information on the local area. We were very well looked after by Lynne and family on our arrival and they provided lots of helpful information on the villa as well as recommendations for places to visit and nice restaurants.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Casa Emilia as a lovely place for a very enjoyable holiday for the whole family.

Our second stay at 'Casa Emilia' with arrangements, information etc. thoughtfully supplied by Bonne & Barry.

Four generations enjoyed their stay at the spacious villa, with everything you could possibly need supplied. Just minutes away are beautiful beaches, bars and restaurants, or stay-in and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

We shall definitely return .....

Our stay in casa Emilia was really enjoyable. The facilities in the villa were really good and we found it clean, modern and ideal for a relaxing family holiday. Our boys really enjoyed the pool and they also enjoyed observing the goats accompanied with goatherd. We all loved the consistently beautiful weather with a breeze everyday! We loved the local beeches particularly Altura as we had our own personal car parking slot each day! We found Villa Real and Tavira equally beautiful and left us with very fond memories of our holiday, Eating out was reasonable and the food was great especially the seabass. Castro Marim was very interesting especially on market day.We would recommend Casa Emilia as an excellent villa to spend your holiday

Our stay at Casa Emilia was from March to May 2009. It was a wonderful villa to call home on our travels. There is everything you would ever require there & provides you with your 'creature comforts' to enable you to relax and chill out for a wonderful stay. After a lovely welcome you will be able to enjoy the out BBQ area & the quiet and peaceul garden area, for a relaxing time taking in the sun near the big palm. The roof terrace gives you a wonderful view of the area. Look out for the goats! There are many places to visit locally. Castro Marim is a gem & has a great local atmosphere. There is a monthly market on every 2nd Saturday morning, the town comes alive, its fun! The CORVO supermarket can provide all your requirements, don't forget to have a coffee & toastie & pastel de natas @ the cafe counter, we went for breakfast most mornings. Shopping there is great for fruit & veg; the deli counter for Hams, chorizo & cheeses AND the fresh breads. If you are able to be in Castro Marim in August there is a fantastic annual event on the last week of the month when the whole of the town becomes, Medieval & the town's people, shops, castle & fort become History to be experienced! Foods, fair, demos, horses, & knights. The library in Castro Marim is a great place to hang out should you need internet, there are many pc's to use & the library is very interesting. Closed only on sundays. Don't forget that you are in beautiful countryside & there are loads of walks to experience, there is a great footpath book in Castro Marim Tourist info office available, also for the local train & bus times. A boat ride over the river from Vila Real S. Antonio to Ayamonte Spain can be fun & you can experience the fun of having tapas in town. Its a great area, one of the best for fish and seafood and the Prawns/Gambas are to die for!!! (A 2 centre holiday!) You are close to the sea which is only 5 mins in the car. Long sandy beaches. A panoramic restaurant @ Praia Verde sets the relaxing theme, but many local fish places along the coast should not be missed. A new mall is being completed in Tavira & should be open this summer for the cinema & shopping! Tavira a great town for a day out, take a walk up to the castle for the view! Cabanas beach for a unique experience, catch a ferry across the waterway to get to the beach! Lots to do and see AND the villa was just marvellous. A credit to the owners.

Bonnie was so helpful and friendly when we first contacted her .All the arrangements before we left the UK went painlessly and without a hitch .We were given lots of infomation about the area and the property, which was both very usefull and reassuring.
When we arrived at Casa Emelia we where all impressed with how very attractive it looked.Lynne greeted us and showed us around this delightful villa. It had every thing we needed and far more than we expected to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen was generously equipped, the beds very comfortable and there is a very good selection of books, dvds and cds.The pool and barbeque areas are lovely and we spent many hours relaxing their. To end the day sat on the roof terrace overlooking the nature reserve and watching the sun set drink in hand ,was just perfect.A wonderful holiday. We hope to return .A big thank you from Delia,John,Louise Mike,Ella,David and Christine.

Casa Emilia is fantastic. As soon as you arrive you immediately feel as though you are 'home' - every ittle detail has been thoughtfully considered to help make your stay as relaxing and stress free as possible. "Where shall we eat?" "Where shall we visit?" "How do we get to ...?" "Where can we buy ...?" All of these questions and more have been answered in the information folder provided (invaluable!). The villa is spotless and very well presented.
My husband and 2 teenage sons loved the nearby golf courses followed by much needed relaxation by the pool. I just loved the peace and tranquility to read and chill in beautiful surroundings.
Bonnie and Barry were extremely helpful before our visit and thanks to their attention to detail made our holiday one of the most tranquil and hassle-free we have had.
If you are lucky enough to book Casa Emilia you won't be disappointed.

Great place to stay

We visited Casa Emilia in September 2006 on our first visit to Portugal. Everything about the villa was first class and provided excellent accomodation for our whole party which was made up of 6 adults. There was plenty of space for everyone to chill out and enjoy the pool, roof terrace and garden. The kitchen was perfect and had everything you needed which was the same throughout the villa. Presentation on arrival and standard of care was excellent and we would not hesitate to recommend this villa for a holiday retreat.

Wonderful Holiday!

Review Submitted: May 20, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2007
Our family stayed at the villa in June '07 with our 2 young boys (4 & 18mths old) and we had a great time. We were supposed to have friends to stay, but unfortunately due to illness they were not able to join us, so we had the place all to ourselves! The boys loved playing in the pool and the gardens surrounding the villa. The villa itself is like a home from home with everything you need well provided for including a vast range of toys, books, games, DVDs, pool toys etc. for the children. We had a really enjoyable couple of weeks! As the location is so close to the Spanish border, it is well worth travelling to Seville (Parque Maria Luisa is fab) and surrounding areas. The owners are extremely nice and bend over backwards to help with any information you need. We really had a great time & would highly recommend the villa for families with both younger and older children.
