Home from home

Review Submitted: September 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Just spent a very enjoyable week at Kerry's apartment. It has an excellent layout, with plenty of space in all areas. The bedrooms, bathrooms, indoor and outdoor living areas are all luxuriously appointed, spacious and clean - just like the pictures. The bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I have slept on away from home

The communial areas and pool were beautiful, and the other guests and residents were both friendly and of a high calibre, which all helped to make our stay memorable.

There were many personal touches too that should be mentioned - an array of books and magazines, sewing kit, hair dryer and plug adaptor.
Lots of local info, and leaflets regarding the local area. We hired a car for the week, and the central location meant we could really enjoy the whole province, whilst for those who like to walk, you could easily take in a different suburb every day with a unique experience each time

I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone. It is in a very good position, though I think it should be mentioned that the stairs to the actual apartment are quite steep - that was the only minor downside.

Just want to say thanks

Wonderful holiday accommodation

Review Submitted: August 19, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We spent nearly 3 weeks in this beautiful appartment and were not disappointed on any level. The appartment has everything you could want and is fitted out to a very high standard. The kitchen is very well equipped which was great for us as we had a toddler and young baby in our party. The terraces provide plenty of opportunity for either sunbathing, or eating/sitting around outside and you are not overlooked at all.The gardens and pool are stunning and on several occasions we had the pool to ourselves even though we stayed at a busy time of year. There are plenty of shops nearby so if you don't feel like straying far you can get what you need locally. We have stayed in and around this area several times, but this is by far the best we have come across and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family. The owner was quick and friendly in replying to our questions at the time of booking which was a great help. A wonderful holiday experience.
Owner's Response: The terraces are a favourite feature of the apartment with our guests. Large and comfortable all day for eating, sitting and dozing on, ideal for getting the summer tan underway before going public at the pools and a sheltered sun trap for the winter sun.

Perfect holiday location!

Review Submitted: July 29, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We rented the apartment from July 13th until July 27th. As it was the first time that we booked a private accommodation through internet, I was a bit uncertain about what to expect. The pictures on the website looked great and the comments were nothing but positive, but would it really be as good as described? It turned out to be fantastic! We have been to the region several times, but this was really the best place we ever stayed at. The moment we walked in the apartment, it immediately felt good. The place is clean and spacious, the furniture is comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped, my sons loved the WIFI. It did not feel like an unpersonal holiday accommodation and we could imagine living permanently in a place like this.
The apartment has a great location, close enough to the center and the stores, but far enough to not being bothered by loud tourists.
Even though it was high season, it was very calm by the pools. We often had the pool completely to ourselves. We did not miss sunbeds by the pools, on the contrary: the gardens are so beautiful and peaceful and the grass is kept so clean that sunbeds would only give it a more crowded and unnatural feeling.
When we return to Andalusia, we will certainly try to book the apartment again!
Owner's Response: Thank you for this Bettina and for confirming that the apartment is as described and comfortable like a permanent home in a great location and also that booking private accommodation via this website has worked out well for you. I look forward to adding you to my list of returning guests,

Perfect place to stay near Puerto Banus

c and b and j Northumberland
Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
From the details and photographs we hoped we had chosen an ideal apartment and we weren't disappointed. It met all our expectations and more. The spacious terrace affords lovely views of the sea and also the lovely villas and mountains nearby. We enjoyed 11 days of brilliant blue skies and sunshine and with the terrace getting the sun from 10am to sunset we could sunbathe at leisure. The terrace strategically located blinds also provided much needed shade too when we wanted it, so we could enjoy being outside all day. The terrace is very private so you can enjoy conversation and chatting. For cleanliness and maintenance the apartment met my very high standards and gets 10 out of 10. Same for the gardens and pool area. The pool was delightfully warm and the beautiful palm trees provided welcome shade. We were more than happy foregoing sunbeds and a pool bar for the privilege of swimming here. Although July we often had a pool for 80 persons to ourselves or shared it with less than 10 other persons. We enjoy walking so found the 15 minutes to Puerto Banus a pleasant stroll, often going twice a day. Once in the morning when cooler and quieter and than again in the evening to enjoy the lively scene. There are good cafes and bars nearer though offering a pleasant and relaxing ambience. Also good supermarkets max.10 minutes walk. The owner provided excellent information and responded to all our requests extremely efficiently and friendly. Great base for sightseeing enjoying Gibraltar, Rhonda and even Sevilla where we loved the countryside and quiet roads. We will be recommending this property to our family and friends.
Owner's Response: This review is great because it confirms that the details shown on this website for the apartment are genuine. Honesty is always the best policy and the benefit has been in our repeat bookings. Sixteen guests have been to the apartment more than once since we began in late 2004.

Luxury Penthouse

DF1 Kent, UK
Review Submitted: June 30, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Just returned from a great holiday, staying in this appartment for 5 nights. Very homely and very clean with great touches such as lots of plants and good furnishings. Lovely terrace area to enjoy breakfast or afternoon tea. As there were 4 grown-ups - disappointed that there were only 2 sun beds!
Positives - appartment, close proximity to restaurants, within walking distance of beach and Puerto Banus and nice and quiet!
Negatives - single beds in second bedroom were really designed for children. The complex had four swimming pools and no sunbeds - probably biggest complaint of all!
However, a great holiday was had by all - would certainly go again!
Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and positive comments Elaine and just to reassure future guests that we will be addressing the other points you have raised.

We tried 4 sunbeds on the terrace last year and 2 were broken – we still have 4 sunbed cushions so we will try 4 sunbeds again next year. Incidentally not many apartments have terraces large enough for 4 sunbeds but this apartment does!

The single beds were included when we purchased the apartment. I've slept in them and I've always thought that they are the standard single size 90 x 190cm for adults and older children because I bought and use British standard single fitted sheets on them. Beds for children are 75-80 x 120/140/160cm.

The beds do tend to feel a bit short because they can get pushed under the headboards which are attached to the wall and not to the beds so this can effectively reduce the length – we have put a note about this in the arrival details and will try lowering the headboards to stop this happening.

We are persevering with the Aldea Blanca Community AGM for sunbeds around the pools. The President is very keen but this item has yet to win the vote. The pools are in beautiful award winning gardens and lawns and the sunbeds and lightweight chairs from the terrace can be used in these areas.

A Gem in Nueva Andelucia/Puerto Banus

Guillermina Amsterdam
Review Submitted: March 16, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My husband retired in December and we planned for years to come down to Spain in the winter months in search of the sunshine and equally important a nice place to stay. That the weather turned out great was a blessing, but that the apartment exceeded our expectations was even better! The apartment has got a great location, especially if you are staying in the winter because there is still life around you plus it offers plenty of conveniences, walking to Puerto Banus if you rather not use a car, shopping or eating at Centro Plaza, and walking to Marbella along the promenade which is just superb if you like walking. But if you just want to stay at home, the apartment offers every comfort, good sofas, fireplace, triple aspect living room, double aspect dinning room and master bedroom, so it's light, light, light! The kitchen is lovely. The terrace is just wonderful, private, large and allows you see the sunset each day! The apartment was immaculately clean, well equipped, tastefully decorated, a real home away from home. We've booked again for next year! Looking forward to it already. Thank you Kerry for providing us with a first class holiday home, and for all the help, information, tips you gave us and especially for your friendliness. Needless to say, we would highly recommend the apartment.
Owner's Response: M. Milly and her husband are my first long term Winter guests (6 weeks). The apartment is popular in the Summer months and naturally I enjoy being there at anytime of the year, so it's great that they have confirmed that the apartment and the location are also well worth a visit during the Winter months for retired couples.

It was possible for them to have visiting family and friends during their stay because the apartment is spacious and easily sleeps 4. Both of the two bathrooms include a bath and separate shower, there are two living rooms and two separate areas on the terrace for sitting or dozing!

They were there 9 Feb - 23 Mar and it's also great that the weather turned out so well for them. The climate in the Winter months can be variable - from 20+ degrees and full sun to approximately 10 degrees, cloud and sometimes even torrential rain so the benefit of a longer stay in the Winter is that even if you have bad weather at some point you will still see the sun more often than you will see it in Northern Europe! It's possible to spend much more time outside and if the weather is bad the apartment is homely enough to stay in by the fire with a book, or the TV, or your laptop. Alternatively, if you still want to get out on a wet day there is the local department store or commercial centre where you can shop, eat and drink all day if this is your thing. Sorry there's no indoor golf yet for the chaps but there are sports and news channels on the TV, or the DVD's kindly donated by these guests - M. Milly - many thanks and much appreciated.

Paradise found

Review Submitted: December 11, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We have stayed at Kerry's apartment on 2 occasions which says it all really. Location is perfect with short stroll into the port. Apartment is well presented with up to date furniture and good spacious sized rooms with 2 lovely bathrooms. The large balcony is great for relaxing and having a glass of Rioja at night. There is a little pub located just outside the complex with the best (lunchtime) tapas you can get. The Chinese isnt too bad either. A supermarket makes this an ideal location for a relaxing break in the sun. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone who is considering a self catering holiday. The best I have stayed in for a long time. Clearly, Kerry has very high standards.
Owner's Response: Paradise found is a lovely heading for this review because we think the same. We are very fond of the apartment and the location. We bought the apartment to eventually be our winter retirement home, hence the high standards. It will be a good few years before Brian retires so In the meantime we are happy to share the apartment with our guests. By the way Mike, since you were there we now have WIFI internet access, new curtains, rugs and saucepans and the plant you kindly bought for the terrace was in flower and looking beautiful when I was there for a few days in October. Many Thanks, Kerry & Brian
