Wonderful weekend getaway

Penguin Alta Loma, Ca
Review Submitted: December 18, 2007 Date of Stay: August 2007
My husband and I stayed here in September. When we first arrived we said "Wow!" It's located right on the boardwalk, and has an obstructed view of the beautiful ocean. We spent most of our time on the patio, which has a nice large glass table with 6 chairs. Which we enjoyed barbequing, people watching, and listening to music. The 2 bedroom 1 bath unit was extremely comforatble and clean. The full kitchen with dining table was a plus. We enjoyed the living room with the large pull out futon very much, we watched movies and the sunset from it. The only thing the unit didn't have which we needed was beach towels and extra blankets, so don't forget these necessities. The bedroom with the queen bed was very comfortable except we like to sleep in late and the room (which faces south) had foldable blinds (which need to be replaced) and they let in a lot of light. The bedroom with the squeaky bunk beds, faces north so it is very dark, but we didn't want to sleep in seperate beds. We loved this property very much, especially because of it's location. It's a very short and lovely walk to the Newport Pier, shops, and restaurants. We will definitely recommend this property to anyone and we will return next summer, or any season because Southern California has great weather all year! Ps. The manager Julio is a accessable, helpful, friendly, generous person. Thanks Julio!!

Me and seven of my friends showed up to this house and could not believe how gorgeous the view was from the living room!! Its a straight shot of the ocean. We had the two upper levels of the house which included 2 bedrooms & 2 bath on the second level with a full living room, kitchen, and dining table. The third level was huge and so spacious! There was a second mini kitchen upstairs w/bar stools along with huge couches, a pool table, and an amazing balcony view, another bathroom, and full size bunk beds & a huge love sack. Lets not forget the sound system upstairs and the multiple ihomes around the house along the flat screen tvs! We had as many people as 15 people spend the night at once!

I can't get enough of this place. It had everything from extra floor fans to plenty of bath/beach towels to beach chairs and a volleyball. We loved the place so much, we're going back next year and probably the next few years after that. I would recommend this place to anybody who asks. Not only is it ON the beach, but its also only a few blocks away from dozens of restaurants, shops, and bars.

It was all such an awesome experience and we cant wait to go back. Enjoy the house!

We had a fabulous time staying here on vacation. It was very well equipped. The only thing that would have been helpful was some tupperware or something to store food in, but that is the only thing and it wasn't a big deal. It was comfortable, clean, and you can't get a better location than ocean front! Plenty of towels and blankets. The boogie boards were an unexpected surprise and we had a lot of fun with them. We also loved grilling our dinner on the patio and enjoying the ocean view. Also the managers were so nice and helpful and patient with us when we had to change our dates a couple of times. It's really close to Newport Pier and lots of fun shops and restaurants. If/when we come to Newport, we will definitely look here first. Thanks very much, we had a great time.

This unit looks just like it was shown in the photos. The description of the property is spot on. It's a great location to relax and have fun at the beach. Julio was easy to get a hold of with questions or minor hiccups.

My family had a wonderful time and when we visit Newport Beach again, we will be contacting Julio.

We really enjoyed our stay, and would stay again if we were going to be at Newport Beach. The place was great for us. It's not real fancy in terms of current remodeling, kitchen counters, older bathroom, etc. But being able to come right off the front doo to the beach is pretty cool. The price was fair as well, compared to others we looked at. It's right in the middle between two piers with great access to bike riding. We put over 130 miles on our bikes and could ride safely from the condo to Sunset beach, approximately 26 mile round trip. If you need fancy - you probably should look elsewhere. If you need location and a comfortable place to stay - stay here, you'll like the location. Shopping and restaurants within walking distance and excellent parking with your own space. Had few electrical lights that didn't work and need fixed, not just bulbs. Had plenty of towels and full kitchen for cooking plus a gas grill. Nice Place

We really enjoyed our stay. There is lots to do nearby and the beach and ocean were just steps away. Lots of kid and adult fun at either pier and lots of people watching at the place. We will try to get it again when we come back. They were missing a few items, towels, potholders and dish towels and we had to jerry rig the verticle blinds in order to use the futon in the front room but otherwise it was great spot. We couldn't get a strong enough signal to use the wifii but that just ment more time as a family. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
