Our family celebrated our Mother's 75th birthday at Hale Kai....our parents, siblings and spouses....for a total of 12 family members. Hale Kai is a beautiful and magical place and we all had the most wonderful time! We took advantage of all that the estate had to offer....from snorkeling, fishing, playing tennis, kayaking, laying in the hammocks, swimming, playing cards and games, making wonderful drinks in the blender, barbecuing on the grill, painting the beautiful flowers and landscaping, watching the surfers and outriggers, going into town to lunch and shop.....never a dull moment! We were sad to have to leave after spending nine nights at Hale Kai. We're already planning on coming back next year and we hope to stay longer next time! Special thanks to Merry Anne for the wonderful flowers she brought! Thank you Mitch for sharing your estate with the Butler family! Aloha and Mahalo, Debbie Butler Espe

Another amazing and flawless event at Hale Kai.... My client's were so unbelieveably happy with my choice for Hale Kai for their Febuary nuptials.
With a guest list of about 100 and most of them coming from Europe, Hale Kai was the perfect homestead they were looking for to entertain their family and friends all week long with their wedding being the finale of the trip. As a local planner in Kona, I have produced many weddings at Hale Kai and the property continues to be my favorite locale for classic, unspoiled, Hawaiian elegance. The vast grounds enveloped by the Bay, nestled under mature Keawe Trees,is by far the most pristine site on the Big Island for an amzingly private, intimate and memorable affair.
Thank You for allowing me to continue to share this property with my clients..... For Couples interested in planning their wedding at Hale Kai, please visit me on the web at Pacific coast Host (dot. com) I would be delighted to discuss the possibilities of your event and share my experience with you regarding this lovely estate.

My wife and I just had our wedding at Hale Kai this past April. It was such an amazing day. Not only was the location spectacular, but the weather just decided to bless us with blue skies, a clear horizon, and an amazing sunset. Both of us having been born and raised in Kona, it was very meaningful for my wife and I to have our wedding on the Big Island. To have each of our families come together at this beautiful place on the Kona coast was very special. The landscaping for this property is amazing, with ancient twisted keawe trees and giant outcroppings of lava rock surrounded by a sea of comfortable grass for our bare feet. The natural beauty of kona has been woven into the artistic landscape in a way that sets it apart from any place I've been before. Truely this was the coolest place I've ever had the fortune of holding a celebration at. The days surrounding the wedding were spent lounging in the sun and shade to our hearts content, the ocean a few feet from our heads. H-Bay was even breaking that weekend, so I got a little surfing in too, as I could paddle to the break from the private dock at the edge of the property. I could not have asked for more; what a beautiful place.

The estate is secluded and convenient to everything. The scenery and location is hard to believe and truly magnificent. At any time of the day, you can dive into an aquarium from the dock and experience swimming close to the turtles. You can capture this on waterproof disposable cameras sold locally for about $15.00. If there is any way you can go, JUST GO! There is not one regret from our stay. My screen saver is an afternoon shot from the patio. We shall return! Charles and Ellie

My recent trip to Hawaii, was spent at Hali Kai. Although we felt our wedding would be the highlight of our trip, it was actually equaled by the sights of Hali Kai Estate & grounds. Next to heaven, it must be, one of the most beautiful & serene places in the world. One must see, Hali Kai, to understand, what words cannot describe. Although, my wife & I are back home, we both close our eyes & dream of this wonderful place called HALI KAI.

Hale Kai is truly paradise within a paradise. It is easy to understand why the Hawaiian royalty chose this property for their own enjoyment. The accommodations were perfect. The property is so large that it was easy for everyone to have their own private space yet there was plenty of room for our big get-togethers in the evening at the main house. Getting supplies, groceries, etc. was just a couple of blocks away. We walked to several wonderful restaurants and we booked the manta ray tour simply by walking next door. We loved snorkeling with the turtles off our own private dock and it was great to have our own pool for a dip after dinner. We definitely plan on a return trip to see the most beautiful sunset in the world and to sip a Mai Tai in the hammock.

Mahalo, Hale Kai!

I spent a week at Hale Kai while visiting friends in Hawaii last October. It is truly one of the most special places I've ever been privileged to visit. In fact, my friends, who had been living and traveling in Hawaii for three months, agreed that Hale Kai was the most beautiful spot on the islands. We spent six days enjoying our own private resort - kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, relaxing in the hammocks, playing tennis, and so much more. Each morning we enjoyed coffee while watching the sunrise over the Keahou Bay and the many tropical birds enjoy their breakfast. Each evening we prepared dinner so we could watch the sunset on the oceanside of the property. At night, we continued to enjoy Hale Kai's beauty by lighting the tiki torches and turning on the spotlight mounted in one of the palm trees.

Hale Kai offers its guests the chance to truly relax and enjoy the beauty of God's creation. I am blessed every time I think of the days I enjoyed there, and hope to visit again sometime in the near future.

I wanted to personally write you a note about our vacation at your home. We went the week of Thanksgiving and it was my parents' 50th anniversary and my Mom's 70th birthday and we wanted to take them somewhere special. Your house and grounds were perfect for us. I cannot tell you how much fun everyone had during that week. We never left - every night we would say should we go out to dinner and my husband would say 'Why?'.
We own our own business and it's real hard to get my husband to relax. After 3 days, he never called his office again. My 13 year old daughter loves the ocean and would go snorkeling every day off the dock with the turtles and fish. For 5 days in a row, she and my husband would take the kayak 100-200 yards to the ocean and she would be swimming surrounded by dolphins 6 inches away from her! It has been a week since we left and we cannot wait to go back. Aloha and Mahalo, -J.S., San Diego, CA
