Wonderful hideout

Review Submitted: June 18, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We spent a lovely week at Bells Cottage in April 2009 - even the weather was fantastic. The area offers a lot to see, great nature and walks around the lakes of Killarney or along the several beaches. The information the Bachems provide are very helpful for planning a variety of activities. But even in case of bad weather Bells Cottage offers enough to feel comfortable and relax: The cottage is well equipped and really feels like a home. An open fireplace, a cosy living room and nicely furbished kitchen, two charming sleeping rooms and bathrooms upstairs offer all you need for a relaxing holiday.
The Bachems are wonderful hosts and will do anything to make you feel comfortable at Bells Cottage. We had a great time there and hope to return soon!

Charming country cottage

(Wo)Men of Kent Herne Bay, Kent, England
Review Submitted: March 12, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2008
We have stayed at this cottage many times in the past few years. It is set in a lovely and secluded garden with extensive views across countryside from the upstairs windows.

It is comfortably furnished in a style that does not detract from the overall country cottage feel. The kitchen is furnished in the style of a true country cottage - all antique pine.

The owners have added lots of homely touches such as lots of local art, pottery and candles. It feels like a real home from home and not a holiday cottage.

The owners are welcoming, friendly and helpful. They provide an excellent service without being intrusive.

Beautiful country walks are available from the cottage, although we think a car is essential to really take advantage of the lovely countryside and also to get to the nearest towns for shopping and restaurants.

There are a range of restaurants and pubs within a short drive - some gourmet and some with a more basic, yet good, style of cooking. However, we often find that we cannot tear ourselves away from the cosy log fire and in the evenings, and so cook candlelight dinners for ourselves. That is when we would like a dishwasher to do the dishes, pots and pans - but we all join in to do the washing up!

The cottage provides a gateway to both the Iveragh and Dingle peninsulars and this gives access to all the varied types of scenery on offer in the south west of Ireland.

It is a cottage that lets you unwind and release all the stresses and strains of modern living. We are always sad when it is time to leave.

I would recommend the property to a friend - although I would prefer to keep it secret for myself!
