Where do I begin? My husband and I chose to have a beach -barefoot- wedding in St. John. Selecting the island was easy as it was my mother's favorite island of all the Caribbean. She passed away 4 1/2 years before our wedding day. Knowing how hard that day would be without her being there, I searched for a villa that would accommodate for my family. My dad gets the credit for finding Villa Agel. It was the perfect setting for the entire week! Mike & Patrick were fabulous! They graciously allowed us to hold the reception at the villa. I think having 3 active preachers in our families helped them understand our wedding wasn't going to be the typical beach wedding that could easily get out of control. :) Our families have never experienced any home as breathtaking as Villa Agel. Our wedding planner, Shea of KatiLady Katering, did a phenomenal job decorating the villa and providing for our guests. Everyone was thrilled to have been able to 'experience' Villa Agel. I could easily elaborate more on this!

The views, kitchen, and decorations are mentioned well in the other comments. What hasn't been mentioned yet are the beautiful birds, caterpillars, fabulous location, and vegetation! The plants are unbelievably lush! Mike and Patrick have done a fabulous job with all the landscaping details! There is honestly not one detail that has been overlooked. Even the contents of the welcome basket are perfectly selected! My husband and I returned to the States with some fabulous ideas for our ideal home we plan on building in the upcoming months. We are grateful and appreciative of Mike & Patrick for opening their home to visitors like us! One last item, if you make Villa Agel your place to stay once, beware as you will never want to stay anywhere else in St. John ever again. :) We are obviously planning a return trip!

We just returned from a wonderful week at Villa Agel. It was our first experience renting in Coral Bay and it did not disappoint. The owners were very welcoming and helpful in getting us acquainted with the home. Each room was beautifully decorated and sleeping was a dream. You can find sun or shade at anytime of day either on the front porch overlooking the bay or the pool and patio area with comfortable lounge chairs, a covered veranda with eating area, vine covered pergola and hammock. The kitchen was large and easy to cook in. All in all a beautiful and comfortable home. The shops and resturants of Coral Bay were within a couple of minutes by car. Most beaches were within a short drive as well. We were very pleased by the location. We hope to return again next year.

I can honestly say that my stay at Villa Agel in February was the best vacation I've taken! The house is beautiful and has the greatest view. There was more than enough room for the 8 of us. Mike and Patrick really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. My family has already talked about when we can go back! I have recommended the home to everyone I've talked to that is interested in going on vacation. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

My family stayed at the Villa Agel last February. All 8 of us were blown away by the house and the view. We had a great vacation and the house was amazing. IF you stay here you will not be disappointed.

Mike and Patrick are great hosts and they have thought of everything. The advice they provided regarding places to go and things to do was very helpful!

I would definitely recommend the Villa Agel!

Our stay at Villa Agel was wonderful. And that doesn't even begin to describe it. There are not enough words to describe it fully. The house and grounds are beautiful with many special details. It is very private, with beautiful views stretching across the lovely aqua waters and white sailboats to nearby hilly islands. We especially loved watching the sun rise from our bedroom each morning, showering in the stone shower, enjoying breakfast on the terrace or in the garden, lulling in the hammock, laughing in the pool and viewing the stars from the rooftop. It was a very romantic family vacation. Mike and Patrick were excellent hosts and kept the villa in top notch shape.

It was a dream vacation and there isn't a day we aren't dreaming about returning. It was an incredibly relaxing, soul feeding vacation for our family. It's not often we have vacationed and wanted to bring the villa home with us, nor considered replacing our kitchen appliances to those in the villa. The kitchen is fabulous. The island is beautiful and there are many places to explore. We found the snorkelling, scuba diving and sailing excellent.

Thank you Mike and Patrick for sharing your place with us!

Words can't begin to describe one's stay at Villa Agel, perfectly situated above Coral Bay with breath-taking views. Don't miss sunrise or sunset from the roof deck of the pool house. You won't be sorry!

The house is beauifully decorated to the point that you won't be able to choose your favorite thing. As a gourmet, I loved the kitchen. It has everything you could want. Then again, there was the relaxing patio and pool. Got to experience it under the stars. Another must do! Then, off to a most comfortable bed for sweet dreams.

Michael and Patrick are perfect hosts. They have forgotten nothing and are quick to offer suggestions and advice to make your stay even more enjoyable.

Make sure to rent a 4wd vehicle to get around the island and explore all it has to offer.

Do yourself a favor, stay at Villa Agel, I promise it will be one of your most memorable vacations ever.

Villa Angel was truly a pleasure. We kept waiting for a catch, but there wasn't one. The Villa is beautiful. The rooms were spotless. The Kitchen was excellent and fully supplied. The owners were very helpful in guiding us to restaurants and beaches. When you get there you should stand on the eastern porch and just take in the magnificent view and fabulous ocean breeze. We look forward to going back next year.

Wonderful home, setting and location. Nothing - absolutely nothing - was lacking. From arrival to departure, our hosts met our every need. Bedrooms were very ample and nicely done -- and the indoor/outdoor showers in 2 of them were extremely soothing and special. Great great kitchen with all the amenities. Pool and seating area around pool were perfect for our family ranging in age from 6 to 88. Coral Bay/east end of the island is clearly a great place to be - we went to Cruz Bay only once for lunch.

Villa Agel is indeed a special property. It's elegant, sophisticated and understated but not stuffy. The location is supreme, perched high above Coral Bay with exquisite wrap around views. The villa is very private, yet a short drive to the stores, restaurants and beaches on this tranquil side of the island.
The villa is beautifully appointed. The furnishings are exceptional and all the elements of interior design blend harmoniously. Check out the oversized armoire and the dark wood bedframes. I wanted to come home and redecorate. The dining room table is fantastic--and huge.
The landscaping and grounds are thoughtful and lush. The pool area is private and very pretty. We enjoyed memorable afternoon yoga sessions here with the tropical breezes blowing up from Coral Bay.
The owners are nice and very helpful with all sorts of recommendations on where to eat, beach, snorkel and shop. Make sure to ask them for directions to find local organic greens. They were so good we wanted to bring some home in our suitcase.
I highly recommend Villa Agel. It's a 5 star keeper.

My pictures don't begin to tell the whole story of the amazing Villa Agel we called home for 8 days last month. Our family is grieving over the recent death of our husband, father, and grandfather and this reunion in such a beautiful and peaceful setting was healing for us all.

The first impression was welcoming elegance and the attention to details like fresh flowers in every room and a "welcome basket of snacks" was wonderful. We found everything we needed for everyday life, from can openers to laundry soap.

What was special about our visit? Craftsmanship of woodwork and doors, impressive architecture of arches, verandas and the unique floor
plan, plenty of space for a large group or cozy corners by the pool for the kid in all of us.

I could definitely get my mail here! Thanks so much. Naomi Kellam, Kalispell, MT
