Dear Anne, We had a wonderful time staying at your cottage. It was Cozy and welcoming and so nicely decorated. Just what we were looking for. I miss the view from the bedroom window already.
Dear Anne. We had a marvellous time in your cottage. Everything was perfect - the house itself with its charming style and atmosphere, the surroundings, the relaxation there. The week was just too short, we could have stayed on!
Dear Anne, Just a note to say we had such a great week. The house is lovely. Thank you for letting us stay and thank your brother for the turf for the open fire.
Dear Anne, Just a line to say thanks for letting us stay in your lovely house. We totally fell in love with the house and the whole area and will definitely be back again if you'll let us.
Anne, a few lines to say how much we enjoyed our holiday. Your house is very cosy and was so welcoming with the lights on, the turf burning in the fire and the groceries in the kitchen. We hope we can can come again.

Beautiful place to be off

The cottage is very lovely and really has an old world character. Cleggan is a small village which seems to be at the end of the world - or at least close to it. Nevertheless it is a good place to start trips in the connemara region and of course it is a place of silence. The cottage was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The arrival was a bit strange. The cottages around are not really in the best shape. But this was forgotten after we walked into the house.

A delightful home from home

The cottage was extremely clean, comfortable and we felt instantly at peace. Set at a comfortable walking distance from the village of Cleggan and a stunning beach, after a couple of days touring we really couldn't have been happier and rarely strayed more than a few miles from 'home'. Refreshed and exhilirated by our first trip to one of the most beautiful parts of the world and only four hours from our doorstep. Thanks Anne. X

We thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful stay at the cottage. The experience was everything that we hoped. It was so comfortable we all felt as if we had "come home". We wish the owner and her family much happiness, they certainly provided us with a great vacation!!

Cottage in Cleggan Ireland

Missoula Missoula, Montana, USA
Review Submitted: June 10, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Very nice, self-contained home. There were five of us staying, and the place was roomy, convenient and comfortable. We were able to fix our own meals, do our laundry, and bathe. We drove from there to sites in the area. I'd highly recommend it.

Cleggan - away from it all

Review Submitted: January 14, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
The property matches its description. It is a nice cottage in the small village in Cleggan. The journey to and from the village provides you with such scenic views especially the lakes on both sides of the roads before you get to Clifden. It is a wonderful away from it all village, where you can slow down and appreciate the pace it offers....

Perfect Holiday Home!

This spacious cottage is very lovely and well kept in excellent condition. The bedrooms are also nice size and comfy - 2 with sea views and 1 with a wonderful countryside view, and the bathrooms are also very large. The location is unbeatable - as indicated, it is a 5 min walk from the village and Sallerna beach, with plenty of space for parking as well. I was welcomed with a turf fire and groceries - very warm and inviting. The village of Cleggan has friendly, hospitable people and plenty of pubs to choose from - plus being a short drive from neighboring villages and towns - Clifden, Letterfrack, etc. I wanted a lovely cottage in a friendly quaint Irish village by the sea - and this is exactly what I got! I even extended my stay for another week because I had such a fantastic time. I will be back to this cottage and to Cleggan time and time again! I can't say enough wonderful things about Anne, the cottage, Cleggan, and Connemara in general.

GRAND FINALE!

Review Submitted: June 20, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
We were in Ireland for three weeks, Cleggan being the last hurrah. Each week I was sure that the previous home could not be "beat" and was sure I'd be letdown. Boom...Cleggan. The best place and best area ever. Your house was comfortable, cozy, lovely and more than anticipated. Cleggan....why even leave the town? It has everything, fishing, piers, pubs, music, horses, fantastic view, wonderful people. We did it all (and some that I care to forget ...singing at Olivers' after just a wee bit too much wine). Neumans on Sunday, Joyces' on Friday, dancing, singing. Riding Omey Beach, Fishing with Johnny and Ray. Inisbofin, Sky Road, Clifden, Westport, Cong, Connemara. And each day coming home to your house! I actually bought over $100 worth of "dirt" (peat for my fireplace) to bring home. Everything you need within walking distance. Your website if good, but hardly does your house justice! Make sure all visitors check out all the horses across your street. Thank you so very, very much for the grand finale! Thank you for the preserves, bread, butter and ...hmm lots more! Best week ever! Best beds ever, best view ever, best shower ever, best clothes line ever....
We hope to be back next year!

It may be listed, but it's not cute or nice

This is one of five residences on a small road about 5 minutes out of Cleggan. The parking area (eg "yard") in front of the building is filled with garbage--old clothes, paper... The house, itself is small. I wouldn't recommend renting property.
Owner's Response: I am sincerely sorry that on the day this guest arrived at my cottage, a neighbour had a burst water pipe and suffered a flood. As the neighbour does not have a back door - which my cottage does, he unwittingly took his wet belongings out to the front of his cottage and left them in the communal parking area. All his belongings have been removed from the parking area..
The other side of the communal parking area (opposite my cottage) is my enclosed garden, with a stone wall, flowers and a picnic bench.

Cleggan Cottage

Review Submitted: June 3, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Connemara is absolutely stunning and this cottage is a great base to explore it. Anne was lovely when booking and we had the personal touch of selected groceries not expected on arrival and a visit from Anne's brother mid-week to ensure all was well. The cottage would benefit from a few small improvemnts but nothing to spoil a wonderful week in a wonderful place.
