Most comfortable place we have ever stayed!

Barbara (owner) was fantastic about seeing to everything being perfect. Extremely quiet, very comfortable, tastefully decorated, and prefectly located to everything. I would highly recommend this "home away from home" to everyone. Exceptional value for the price!

We had a wonderful experience at the Crooked Bear Chalet. We stayed from June 20-27, 2009. This property is in close proximity to downtown Murphy and many other great attractions in the Smoky Mountain area. The home was immaculately maintained and was stocked with everything we needed. The homeowner was so friendly and did everything she could to accomodate our needs during our stay. We will definitely recommend Crooked Bear Chalet to our friends and family and I hope that we will get to return again soon!

We arrived Sunday afternoon with our son and his wife and were overwhelmed at this beautiful, meticulously clean home (it smells like a new home) and the georgous scenery! Pictures do not do it justice!!!

The owners were more than accomodating - we changed our dates twice with no problems! We rented for a week and that was too short! We left a waffle iron in the kitchen because we love waffles! :)

We went to ride our motorcycles and boy did we! We rode 380 miles Monday - did Cherohala Skyway - Up the Dragon Tail - over the Parkway to the Smoky Mountains - down Cades Cove - back down the Parkway - down the Dragon Tail - and back to Murphy. 12 hours and what a ride, absolutely beautiful! Wednesday we did the ride between Franklin and the Highlands then through Dillard, GA and home in 6 hours. Thursday we went to Pidgeon Forge to the outlet malls shopping and through Smoky Mountain National Park both ways - did not see a bear. :( Friday we went whitewater rafting on the Ocowee and then rode Hellbender 28 and up and down the Dragon Tail again. We went to Ducktown on Saturday to see the 1996 Olympic whitewater run full of water - (they only fill it on the weekends) Amazing!!

There is a place to park our trailer & a shed large enough for 3 bikes (we took 2 large ones) and housed ours out of the weather Great!

We ate lunch at the Downtown Pizza Co and it was good. We also had lunch one day at Murphy's Pub and it was Fantastic!

We left a day early (saturday) as we have a 10 hour drive one way and that too long a day with a trailer and 2 bikes to worry about.

We would rent again!!! We loved it!!!!!

This chalet is perfect. The pictures do not do justice for this chalet. It is amazing with breath taking scenery. When it mentions the cabin has everything you need it really does. All we brought was our cloths and everything else was there. I will definately be coming back to stay again and recommend this for anyone to stay!

We thought the chalet was better than the pictures give it credit. The property was clean and ready when we arrived and the owners gave great customer service in the beginning and after. I would not only recommend this property to a friend but would also bring my family down here and will probably come back. We only ate 2 meals in town and it was delicious. The name of the restaurants were called Rib Country and the Waffle House, the service was fast and the food was wonderful. I would recommend eating at both. The directions to get there were very accurate and easy to follow.

4/26/09 I found this chalet on the "Tail of the Dragon" web-site. Anyone that is interested in riding their motorcyles in some of the most scenic roads in the country, should not hesitate to book this chalet, Everything was absolutely perfect, from the comfortable beds, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and even a huge shed that we were able to fit 3 Harleys(full-dressers) in. Quiet wooded setting, but 5 min. to all your needs. I know I'll be back!
