Beautiful Studio in Brilliant Location

Review Submitted: September 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Truly outstanding for a relaxed get-away or sport of sightseeing. The studio itself has everything you could possibly need, but the jewel in its crown is the large balcony area with breathtaking views over the bay of Villefranche. Having breakfast al fresco watching the cruiseliners arrive is about as far removed from the oppressive routine of everyday life as you can imagine.

Villefranche itself is only a matter of minutes from Nice by regular bus service, though there's so much of interest in the town itself (great restaurants, markets, individual shops, museums, beach) that we didn't ever feel particularly compelled to go elsewhere. Highlights of the local area, though, are Eze village, Monaco and the unmissable Ephrussi de Rothschild Villa and gardens. You could almost walk to the latter on a nice day.

The apartment is in an extremely well maintained building. Tim's notes on what to see and do in the area were much appreciated, and the whole service was effiicient and friendly. We will certainly be back!

Superb, superb, superb.........

This is one of the best holiday apartments in which I have ever stayed - it is better than described. The situation of the building is SUPERB - close to both bus and train and near all amenities like shops, restaurants, bars, beach.
The view from the apartment and terrace is to-die-for - SUPERB.
Villefranche is a beautiful location - everybody with whom we dealt was exceptionally friendly, fun and helpful. One restaurant stood out for us, L'Aparté, the food was imaginative and the menu varied and the service was fun and welcoming.
Tim was great to deal with and was very helpful - he mentioned that it was near a busy road and that there might be some traffic noise - it was of no consequence and it never impinged on us or disturbed us in the slightest.
Overall it was a SUPERB break and I will be going back again, but for longer next time.

Perfect

We rented the apartment in early March. The weather was a little mixed but still quite warm. The apartment was just perfect for two and was bright, fresh and obviously loved. Views are as good from inside on the sofa as from outside on the balcony. Lots of places to wander. We loved to go down to the harbour and look at the yachts.
Transport links are very good (Britain, take note!) and it is even easy to access all the small, high villages which provide such good views. Out of peak season is a good time to visit fantastic places like St Paul de Vence which must be a nightmare in the summer, but was an excellent day out. Also, this is around the time when there are lots of festivals - e.g. Menton Citrus festival - very imaginative and fun; Nice Mardi Gras festival - spectacular. Always lots to see/do in Nice and Monaco obviously worth a trip. Go on the train - the station at Monaco is something else! Or, one of my favourites, just wandering around Villefranche, find a seat and eat a pastry, walk some more, sit and have a drink and just relax.

Tim was so friendly and helpful and obviously cares that people who rent the apartment enjoy their stay.
I would definitely recommend this apartment - my only hesitation is that there ends up being no space for us to return!! Tim, sorry the review is late but I thought I'd submitted it. Just went back onto the webpage to take another look. Easy to write one even now, I can still bore friends with our week there!

Did not want to leave!

Just back from a week in this apartment. Loved everything about it! Very clean, bright and well presented studio in a great location coupled with a stunning view of the beautiful Villefranche bay.

The apartment is perfect for a couple wanting to relax or use it as a base to explore the surrounding area. There is plenty to do and see and the owner provided a super helpful list of interesting places in the area.

The terrace is superb as its really spacious. We spent every morning having croissants and gazing over the bay.
There is some road noise which the owner clearly highlighted to us. To be honest, this was not an issue at all for us.

If you are going I would seriously recommend visiting Eze village. incredible! Also, public transport in France is excellent so I would use the buses and trains rather than take taxis. I would also recommend the resturant Michels in the main square. Great food and service.

Lastly, owner was really helpful and everything was very easy and simple and went smoothly. Will be back to this apartment for sure.:-)

Excellent studio apartment with great views

Excellent studio apartment. Very clean, comfortable, spacious and bright, with large patio doors opening onto a good balcony with panoramic views of the Villefranche bay. Convenient to the town's facilities and for the main road to Nice, Monaco etc. Also, an easy walk to the old town, port and beach. Some traffic noise from the main road but never bothered us at all. The property is part of an attractive, well maintained building set well back from the main road in well tended gardens.
Owner was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely use again.

Perfect location, we were so glad we hadn't chosen an apartment in Nice as Villefranche-sur-mer is right on the seafront and you can dine two feet from the sea. Absolutely beautiful place and the apartment is very pretty too. The views were amazing and the balcony huge and a fantastic shower too. We will definitely be back and hopefully explore more of the surrounding area as we were far too lazy this time round!
