Casa Fantone = a perfect vacation home, Gianfranco=a perfect host! Vicki Pemmington Valdosta USA.

Many thanks Gianfranco for a wonderful holiday in a beautiful setting. Special thanks from the Bride and the Groom, the floors were beautiful and will travel with us on our honeymoon to Naples. Diane Cook, Blackpool, Lanchester, UK.

Casa Fantone is a wonderful place, we enjoyed being here! The best is yourself. Thank you for extra care and for making us comfortable. Your breakfast was gorgeous as well as your honey&pears! All the best for you and I hope to see you again. Hartel Mirian . Ammerbuch, Germany.

The key word is great. A great place, a great views from the house and pool, great surroundings as Arezzo and Siena and do not forget Quota di Poppi. Great weather, great wines, dinners and evenings. We also thanks Gianfranco for his hospitality. Risselada Peter - Krimpen NL.

Amazing New Year holidays at Casa Fantone!

AnyaB Novosibirsk, Russia
Review Submitted: November 11, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We had really amazing New Year holidays at Casa Fantone!

The property itself is very authentic and two fireplaces make the
whole atmosphere more than cosy.

Being born in Siberia (a very cold place, you know) the New Year's
night was quit mild for us, but a Christmas Tree and ?hristmas decorations kindly offered by Gianfranco and enormous inflatable Babbo Natalle (hope I'm right at spelling it) carried from home (and presented to the owner) made our night very homey and unforgettable.

Our holiday meal was also of no small importance and the reason for it
was the biggest wood stove we ever saw. We made 8 pizzas and the whole process from kindling the fire to eating real Italian pizzas was amazing!

We are really lack of words to describe Gianfranco's hospitality! We were even invited to his lovely home to a welcome breakfast and got acquainted with his caring wife (I think it is needles to say that the meal was fantastic!).

Gianfranco, we would like to thank you once again for the great time
we had at Casa Fantone and your hospitality! We all hope to come back in summer to enjoy fruits from your garden and spectaculars view from the swimming pool.

Anya, Andrey, Maria, Yuriy and kids.

Absolutely Fabulous !

Casa Fantone is a Tuscan jewel. The setting is beautiful, the house is immaculate and Gianfranco and his wife are warm, charming and helpful. Our group of six consisted of four adults and two children age eight and eleven. Everyone found something fun to do including a lot of pool time and a ping pong play off (be warned, the ping pong balls are easy to lose!). Day trips to Florence, Arrezo and Cortona were easy and there was the pool to cool of in when we got back! Gianfranco was available any time we needed help arranging a surprise birthday party in Quota or just making dinner reservations in Italian for us. The breakfast was so delicious. It was nice to have time to visit with our host and hostess. The restaurant in Quota we found to be quite charming. La Torricella and Casentino in Poppi were both more upscale and enjoyable as well. All in all we would highly recommend Casa Fantone to friends and family and are planning to return.

Thank you again, Gianfranco, for two wonderful and relaxing weeks in your Tuscany pardise. It was like coming home when we arrived at this peaceful place. Once again it was a great honour for us to have breakfast with your wife and you in your home - a breakfast with friends! We really wish you guests who take care of this place and of course of you! Stay in a good health! Daniel, Baiyo, Tobias, Miriam, Gerald, Manu. Salzburg 2009

The house and the pool are big and beautiful, and the view is superb ! The area is very quiet because there are no neighbors, so you can rest quietly.
The host is very nice and very attentive, everything is really perfect !

We were ten friends eating on the terrace each evening, making home made pizza, and we did midnight-bath each day ;-)
We went twice in Firenze and once in Arezzo to visit these beautiful cities.
The holidays were so great....

I recommend Casa Fantone that is ideal for holidays with friends or family, so do not hesitate, it is probably the best place to be between Firenze and Arezzo !

Casa Fantone : The perfect place to be!!!

Review Submitted: August 19, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
This was our first stay in Casa Fantone and surely not the last! The two weeks (12 - 26 July 2008) were fantastic!
A great house in a perfect surrounding with a wonderful view and last but not least with a very kind host!!!
The welcome-breakfast at Gianfrancos house on the first Monday was very delicious - exactly like the fresh vegetables and fruits we often got from him!
The house and also the pool are in very good conditions.
Arround the house there´s very much space and a lot of things for the kids to do - like tabletennis, basketball, football etc.!
Because Casa Fantone is situated in the hills
(about 600 metres), the climate is nearly perfect! Warm days and not so hot nights - best premises for a recreative holiday!
The next little town (Poppi) is a very nice place and has some very good restaurants( Rossobirra ).

Thank You Gianfranco for this perfect stay!
We´ll be back!! :)

The perfect place for a family holiday!

Mrs. Anne Norway
Review Submitted: July 2, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
This stay was our second, we spent our holiday at Casa Fantone last year too, also then the last two weeks of June.

The description of the villa and surroundings is very good, but when we got there, it was even better and nicer than we could ever imagine! The beautiful villa, with the garden surrounding it, the pool with sunbeds was clean and tempting for both children and adults, and the view, yes it's really breathtaking, that alone would be worth going back for!

The owner, Gianfranco, is a perfect host, who wants everything to be perfect for his guests! He keeps the property in perfect condition, both the house, the pool and the surroundings. The welcomebasket was sooo nice and the delicious breakfast at his house was one of many highlights at our stay:)

Things we recommend people to see:
* The Poppi Castel is a "must see", inside by day, outside after dark, beautiful!
* The camaldolese hermitages and monasteries and the La Verna Sanctuary, can't describe the feeling you'll get when visiting...
* A walk to the cross on Pratomagno mountain, with a fantastic view, you can even see Firenze on clear days.

Resturants:
Rossobirra: our favorite! Very good food and wine, excellent service, a place where you always feel welcome!
The resturant in Quota: Very good pizza and wine, very good service there too! You always feel welcome and people know who you are because you're staying at Casa Fantone :)
The resurant by the Poppi Castle: Good food, excellent service.

We spent most of the time at the house, enoying the sun and the pool, playing table-football and table-tennis. Gianfranco also played a few table-football games with the children, great fun :)

I have recommended a stay at Casa Fantone to friends and family since we got back from our trip last year, and will continue to do so. We like it so good that we'll go back again in two years, and we're already counting down...:)

Casa Fantone Italy

Northern Irish family Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland
Review Submitted: May 29, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
The villa lived up to its description. It is a beautiful old villa in an amazing setting. We found the outside space great with the tabletennis, table football and volley ball great at amusing our young kids. The owner made us so welcome - a lovely basket of wine, olive oil, honey on arrival and a feast of a welcome breakfast!! Gianfranco`s hospitality is second to none, for example he waited for 4 hours as our plane was delayed on arrival. Poppi is a lovely town with good restaurents, a castle and is lovely to wonder around. We would definately recommend this property.

Casa Fantone: A perfect choice

demo USA
Review Submitted: May 25, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2007
2007 was my second visit to Casa Fantone. I first stayed in 2004. In between those years I have recommended it to a number of friends who have stayed there who in turn have recommended it they're friends. It is just that kind of place. You want to share it with the people you care about.

Location: Poppi is a small hamlet within driving distance to Florence. But definitely far enough away to maintain it's rural charm. No big city crowds, etc. Casa Fanatone is set on a hillside. Gianfranco, the owner has olive trees, apple trees, fig trees, plum trees, etc. It is lovely. You have the place to all to yourself but as it is a working farm Gianfranco is there daily to tend his crops etc. Gianfranco is a charming fellow who speaks English and will help you with anything he can. On your first morning you will be his guest for breakfast at his home in his village further up the mountain. You will have an opportunity to meet some of the locals and find the tiny general store run by Gianfranco's sister-in-law.

The farmhouse was spotlessly clean upon arrival and there was a wonderful gift basket with wine and other goodies. The pool is maintained daily. Hammocks are strung about under shade trees and as there are NO BUGS many a peaceful hour was enjoyed sipping wine and being a part of the Tuscan landscape. The bedrooms are comfy and the bathrooms are beautiful. Mine at home should be so wonderful!

Restaurants for all pocketbooks are in the area but as we had some in our group who love to cook we had big home cooked meals at Casa Fantone. I can't tell you if the stove was electric or gas, I did not cook, but there is a dishwasher. That was my skill. That reminds me, there is also a washing machine. Dryers are not big in Italy you will love the clothesline as we did. Clothespins are included.

Enjoy
