Vacation Ruined----SOOOO Disappointed

We rented a condo the because of the heated pool. The only reason we rented a condo was for our children to have a heated pool to swim in otherwise we could have stayed with friends at no cost. When we arrived at the condo the pool and hot tub was not operational. The owner would not refund our money so we were basically forced to stay with the agreement of a discount and so against our better judgment we stayed. The pool ended up being opened but not heated; it was extremely cold swimming and was not enjoyable. Since the pool was "fixed" but without heat, the owner did not feel that she had to honor our agreement for the amenities that we had paid for and had not received. This was very disappointing to us and our children--our vacation was not what it should have been.
Owner's Response: Hollie reserved our condo many months ago for one of four Spring Training weeks, never mentioning anything about the pool, let alone needing it to be heated. Had I known Hollie thought her children had to have a heated pool, I would've told her that I could never guarantee that; not only can heaters break, and propane run out, but once the weather turns warmer, many pool heaters are turned off. I would've just encouraged her to go elsewhere, and would've rented the condo to one of the many people who wanted it after she'd already paid her deposit. As it turned out, the temperature was around 80 degrees the week Hollie and her family were here, and her children used the pool almost every day and had a great time. So I was very surprised when, on the day of check out, she asked for a discount stating repeatedly that the pool was a freezing 50 degrees. Burr! Because I take into consideration the desires of my guests, and really do try to run my business with honesty, integrity, and fairness, I decided to go check it out. I picked up a pool thermometer, and my grandchildren, and headed to the condo pool. Their were several people using the pool when we got there, and the pool water tested out at 75 degrees, the hot tub was about 95, and we had a wonderful time using the pool and the hot tub as did the other adults and children who were there. I'm sorry she felt the need to give us a bad review, but the discount she mentioned was only offered if the pool and hot tub weren't useable, but they were, thus our original contract stood.
