Perfect piece of heaven June/ July 2009

The two weeks that we spend in the upstairs appartment was just fantastic! The sunsets were amazing, making the atmosphere truely relaxing.

The swimming pool makes a really good addition to the appartments, and being a salt water pool makes the experience of swimming on holiday much more fun. We did have a few bad weather days which led us to discover the extensive collection of videos and dvd's to watch.

It really is delightful to have all the shops and restaurants just a step away whilst also not having it distract from the beauty of the place.

Ciudadella is a beautiful town and the bus journey was surprisingly easy and comfortable (especially with the airconditioned buses!)

The places we most enjoyed were 'El Vestbro' with their tapas menu, 'Nautilus' and the grill bar 'Es Calui'. The local supermarkets also have alot of choice but the supermarket at the end has the best bread and pastrys. The supermarket Julia was alil dissapointing for quality but does have a large selection.

We will certainly be back for another slice of heaven next year! Thank you so much for making the appartments so welcoming.

Cala Blanca

We were very comfortable in the upstairs apartment and felt completely spoilt having access to three balconies! Two of balconies look out to sea and each night we had an uninterrupted view of the sunset before going out dinner. The pool was absolutely fantastic. It was incredibly clean and the fact is it not chlorinated meant that my skin, hair, eyes, etc weren’t ruined by the end of the holiday!

There was a wide of choice of good restaurants within walking distance of the apartment and we choose to eat locally a few nights of our stay. We also ate out in the beautiful old town of Cituadella which is less than a 10 minute drive away.

Cala Blanca has its own beach but we also travelled round the island to some beautiful beaches on both the North and South coasts of the island. Pregonda on the north coast and Turqueta come highly recommended!

Thanks again for a thoroughly relaxing holiday. We shall be back!

Lovely relaxing break in June 2009

We’ve very much enjoyed our 2nd stay in the upstairs apartment and have particularly appreciated the new beautiful blue non-chlorine pool. A delight to swim in!

We found the apartment clean, comfortable and convenient. The location is great, a few minutes’ walk to a small friendly local shopping complex, 10 mins’ walk to a pretty beach at Cala Blanca and 10 mins’ drive by bus or car to Ciutadella. The apartment has a fine uninterrupted view to the sea which is approximately 40 metres away. The view of the sunset is spectacular.

Ciutadella is an attractive old town with lots of narrow cobbled streets to potter round, interesting shops and a pretty harbour surrounded by cafes and restaurants and craft stalls in the summer season.

There are lots of beaches to visit and we particularly enjoyed Cala Pregonda on the north coast and Cala Turqueta on the south coast. Cala Pregonda has a good café/restaurant nearby with shady seating outside. Cala Turqueta has very fine white sand which looks very pretty with the turquoise sea! The island is small - it takes about an hour to drive from one side to the other - so that there is a good choice of beaches within easy driving distance.

There are lots of restaurants to choose from. Cala Blanca is surrounded by a wide selection of bars, cafes & restaurants. Seafood is plentiful and snacks are also available. There are also good cafes & bars in the local shopping complex.

We found the service in shops and restaurants everywhere extremely courteous and helpful. Everybody seems to speak good English.

We certainly hope to return and will recommend the apartment to friends and family.

Walking Holiday

- the stated distance to the sandy beach (400m) is probably a bit 'optimistic' (although I haven't measured it!).
- the local facilities (within 5 mins. walk) are excellent. The friendliness, and ability to speak English, of the staff is a real bonus for people like me!
- the walk down to the beach-side at Cala Blanca is a great opportunity to eat the local cuisine.
- Ciutadella is close and is a beautiful city, and one which has to be explored at leisure.
- I would (and have) recommend(ed) the property to friends and family.
- the apartment is a great spot to watch the sun set.
- the ants can be off-putting, particularly when they are in and on food in the kitchen area.

Holiday in May 2009

The apartment is situated in the perfect place to watch the sunsets, with two gorgeous beaches just 10 minutes walk away. The shops and various restaurants are a stone throw away.

The apartment itself is extremely spacious and feels 'like home', with exceptional cleanliness. The owners and property management couldn't do enough for us and gave us plenty of tips for our holiday.

I would highly recommend this apartment, I have taken my husband, two small children and both sides of the family there over four years, so it must be good!

Cala Blanca

NWaltham Hampshire, UK
Review Submitted: November 3, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2007
This apartment in Cala Blanca is lovely and I thoroughly recommend it. My husband, grown up daughter and myself had holidays there in 2006 and 2007 and we've already booked for 2009. (We had to give it a miss this year but only because we used up all our annual leave by going to New Zealand). We're looking forward to dipping in the swimming pool next year which is a new addition and I'm sure will make our stay even better. We call our holidays in Menorca our 'chill out time'.

The upstairs apartment is very spacious and there is a large, well equipped kitchen. (Not that I used it much as we tried as many restaurants as we could and they were all excellent!)

The apartment is in a lovely location overlooking the sea and has spectacular views at sunset. Sitting on the balcony at breakfast and having a drink in the evening before going out to try another restaurant, is a favourite pastime for us.

The area is quiet but all the necessary amenities are nearby such as bars, restaurants and supermarket. The beach is very pretty and about 10 minutes walk. Next to the beach there is a lovely swimming pool which is free to everyone. You just need to buy a drink, served to you by friendly staff with no pressure.

It isn't necessary to hire a car (but you have to get from the airport anyway) and Menorca is a lovely island and worth exploring if you can drag yourself away from the pool or the beach. There wasn't a lot of traffic so driving was easy. Cuitadella, a medieval city, is nearby and has nice markets and lovely (inexpensive) restaurants along the harbour where you can sit and 'people watch' for hours.

Cala Galdana is also worth a visit. This has a beautiful beach and pretty inlet. Drive around the top and have a look at the lovely villas!

Binibequer Vell is very interesting. I understand the locals are not keen on the architecture but I loved it.

However, if you do not venture from Cala Blanca, I'm sure you will still have a lovely holiday.

Week stay in August 2008

Review Submitted: September 2, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
Stayed for one week with family (two adults, two teens). Loved the apartment which was spacious, with fabulous views of the sea from most windows. Particularly loved the balcony which we sat on each sunset and evening. There is lots nearby (bars, supermarkets etc) but we weren't bothered by any noise. There is some building going on next door, but there was no activity in the week we were there so it didn't bother us. The kitchen is well equipped and had all we needed to cook several dinners. We had no trouble with noise from downstairs although there were people there during our stay. Also, we had the pool to ourselves every afternoon. We would recommend the apartment to similar sized/type of group. Only advisory is the stairs. You are upstairs and the apartment is on two levels so it wouldn't suit anyone with mobility problems (or very young children). Otherwise, had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Apartment was surprisingly more spacious than I had expected from the photos. Nice and clean and equipped well. The area is fantastic - very pleasant and pretty with everything needed within walking distance. I felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. Sitting outside on the balcony, watching the various boats going past, sipping cold wine and enjoying the shade and breeze was heaven. I found it very hot at night unless we left all doors and windows open to allow the breeze through - the portable aircon unit is fab to sit in front of for a burst of cold air but not any use for cooling a room. A window or door must be open to hang the outlet pipe from, cancelling out the effect of the cold air - also the water container needs to be emptied and isnt large enough to last during a 6 hour sleep - so warm air is churning out by morning. The local bar is close enough to stroll to ( 4 or 5 houses along the road) but we were never disturbed by noise from it. Supermarket is along from the bar and great for hot morning croissants and baguettes. Noise travels very easily from the apartment below but luckily for us that was empty for most of our stay. The immediate neighbours are friendly but unfortunately one side are building an upstairs extension - so plenty of dust and building noise during weekdays - quite irritating when it's loud. Overall enjoyed the stay and would return to same apartment if we had friends/family to rent the lower one at same time.
