Superb Apartment, Nice location

Review Submitted: April 23, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
From the time we entered the apartment, we fell in love with its cleanliness and location. It is only 30 mins drive from Faro Airport and in the heart of Albufeira. Very near to beach. I would definitely recommend this apartment for getaways, couples and families. A supermarket nearby proved very handy. Owner was very helpful with any queries.

Spacious Apartment in Good Location

Linda, Roger and Eva Greater Manchester
Review Submitted: November 23, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We stayed at the apartment in October/November with our grandaughter aged 10yrs and the weather was fantastic, in the 70's.

The apartment was spacious and spotlessly clean and in a great location for supermarket, tourist train and buses. We liked the Old Town which was near the beach and even had an elevator down to the town and beach. The Strip was full of bars it was fairly quite being November but in summer it would be buzzing and if I was 21 again would love the atmosphere there. Everything was supplied at the apartment down to buckets and spades for the kids.

We were met at the airport by Ricky who transferred us to the apartment even offering to stop at the airport for essentials if needed. He was very helpful and pointed out which way to go for buses etc and restaraunts. He was on time for pick up to take us back and got us back to the airport safetly for our return home.

I would not hesitate in recommending this apartment. Charlotte was very helpful and efficient.

Enjoyable Holiday, Great Apartment

This was our 8th visit to Portugal and our 4th time renting Charlotte's apartment. We have stayed here every time since our first stay. We found Charlotte very easy to deal with and all the correspondence we receive is very professional.

The apartment is very clean; the furnishings are of a good standard, much better than hotels we have stayed in previously.

This visit was just my husband and myself, previous times my in-laws have come as well. The accommodation is adequate to cater for 4 adults, I would say it would also be great for families with 2-4 children wanting to save a few pennies from having to rent a 2 bedroom, there is plenty of room. The photos do not do it justice it is a very large 1-bedroom apartment.

The apartment is in a peaceful road overlooking private villas, yet the restaurants are only a few minutes walk away.

The pool area is in enclosed and only residents can use it, as you require a key to enter, this is great from a safety aspect. There are about 30 apartments in the block but alot seem to be holiday homes that are not rented out as the pool area does not get busy, even when we visited in August there was only 8 people by the pool.

The old town is a little further to walk possibly 15-20 minutes but there is a tourist train which takes you straight there or the taxi rank is around the corner and only cost around 4 euros.

The bus stop for Zoomarina and Crazy World are also only a few minutes walk away. It is an ideal base for whatever you want from your holiday.

We have already booked for March next year and can’t wait!

Great Apartment in Albufeira.

Well situated for the 'Strip' (not so close as to be affected by noise) with supermarkets (and excellent bakery) reasonably close at hand. Very clean and well stocked with just about everything you could wish for in terms of equipment (except oven, but that certainly wasn't a problem for us). Plenty of parking space and quite close to several splendid beaches (10 to 15 minute walk from beach quoted might be a bit ambitious, but certainly not that far). I would certainly use this place again.

A great base for a stay in Albufeira

Liverbird72 Great Sutton, Cheshire, England
Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We have never booked a holiday in this way before and therefore were a bit nervous at first. However we shouldn't have worried as the whole experience from booking to coming home was fantastic. We chose this apartment for two reasons firstly the fact that it was close to the main areas of Albufeira and secondly because of the reviews that the property already had.

We did not hire a car and asked the owners to arrange our transport to and from the airport. This cost €55 return but was money well spent as Ricky gave us some invaluable advice on the way in and pointed out the local supermarket etc to us.

When we got to the apartment it was quite warm already and it was a godsend to be able to put on the air conditioning while we unpacked.

The apartment is very clean and has a balcony with a table and some chairs so you can sit outside with a drink in the early evening before you go out to eat.

Our daughter who was 5 years old at the time enjoyed watching the DVD 'Madagascar' several times while having a 'siesta' and there was a good selection of other films if you wanted to watch them.

We found it very helpful that the apartment had a reasonable sized safe in the main cupbaord as this meant we didn't need to worry about the passports, money, cameras and DS's etc being stolen while we were out.

The apartment is in a great location as it is literally 5 mins walk from the Montechoro Strip. However due to the fact that the apartment is behind the Strip you do not get much noise which is great when you have a young child with you. The nearest supermarket is again about 5 mins walk away (Pingo Doce) but if you don't mind walking a bit further we found that the Modelo had greater choice and better prices.

There are lots of places to eat on and off the Strip and in the Old Town but a few of our favourites included 'Wild & Co' (Strip) which is a great Steakhouse if you are feeling a bit flush, 'Three Crowns' (Old Town) which is a traditional Portugese restaurant built into the old town wall and has a great view of the bay and 'Big Shanghai' a 5 star Chinese restaurant which is always packed but not a 5 star price. When you are there it is worth picking up a copy of 'Freemaps' which show a selection of retaurants and bars which they recommend a visit to. There are separate maps for both the Old Town and The Strip.

Excursion wise you must visit Zoomarine and if you fancy something a bit different a trip to Fiesa (sand sculptures). Enjoy!

What a wonderful Place

Review Submitted: November 13, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
I stayed here with my girlfriend in October, i was firstly impressed by the hot weather 30 + on most days. The apartment is great, close to all the bars and restaurants. The pool area is good to relax by although we did not use the actual pool. We were told by other residents that a communal bbq is being fitted too. We had everything we need in the apartment, it was great to have an iron & board supplied. It was very clean and the views from the balcony were great. We were also told that the tree in the garden is being removed which will only improve the sea views. It was very easy to book the apartment and we received a very comprehensive letter from Charlotte letting us know all we could need to know before we arrived. We were very happy with our choice of accomodation and will be visiting again hopefully in May. Thanks for everything

We were pleasently suprised with the spacious accomodation. It is ideally located within walking distance from the restaurants. My 2 girls aged 14 and 9 both spent most days by the swimming pool. It is an excellent holiday with lots to do for families, there were many day trips available which we will do when we come back again. Charlotte was excellent to deal with and the accomodation made are stay very comfortable with everything we could have needed.

Why I recommend this property

M + T Stockton
Review Submitted: July 8, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Prior to going on holiday we had very helpful assistance from the owner which made us feel confident that we had chosen a good property. The location of the apartment is excellent as it suits all tastes as to what anyone would want from a holiday, easy access to beach, transport, supermarkets, restuarants, night life, coffee shops and cash machines. The apartment is very clean and extremely well organised. It is spacious and comfortable. An absolute bonus is the hot, powerful shower. The swimming pool and surrounding garden was a little haven.
We preferred eating in The Old Town and after a few visits to other restaurants we found a wonderful Portugese restaurant (Prezers) where the food, service and atmosphere was superb. After that we didn't want to go to any other resturant they had everything we wanted.

Superb stay

A lovely apartment and pleasantly suprised, upon arrival, how much more room there was than what the photo on the web depicted. The apartment was situated an ideal distance from the new town which could get a little noisy later in the evenings but having a 10 minute walk back was ideal.
During our stay we ate at some good eateries "Liza's pizzas" and "El rancho" at the top end of the strip are a must especially for the steak lovers amongst you but our real favourite you have to travel down to the "old town" which is stunning both by day and night although a little too far to walk with a young family. For 3 euros pp you can use the train all day unlimited with the last run being around midnight and under 5's ride free and this service runs from both the towns. We,on a couple of occasions, travelled down to the "Fisherman's beach" in the old town, which is fantastic also,in the daytime then back to the apartment for a change and showers then back down for the evening and seafood lovers must try the "Cataplanas" amazing!
The apartment was a 35 minute journey from Faro airport via minibus which cost 30 euros each way.Hire car next year for us with all the taxi fares and train trips added together you could rent a car for not much moor and see a whole lot more of this picturesque country especially the west coast where the scenery is breathtaking.
Only 1 thing left to do now, thank the owner Charlotte, nice 1.See you next year.Neil,Louise, laura & Jack
