Reviews of Property: Great Value! Beautiful, SPACIOUS, ECO 2Bd/2Ba 1 Block to BEACH.

Cool place to stay with the family. We were travelling with our 3 ½ year old daughter and it was great to be able to get up each day and be on the beach in 2 minutes. Great for hanging out on a night, BBQing and chilling. The big fridge was ideal for cooling beers and the ice maker and blender got a lot of use in the margarita department. Having clothes washing facilities was a real plus when travelling with kids.

Public transport into Santa Monica and beyond was very easy and convenient as was exploring Venice by foot.

Thanks Melodie for being very friendly and non intrusive. You would not have know that anyone was living above us.

I’m glad I was not driving because that parking space is tight. I suppose that we were lucky to have a space though being so close to the beach.

Walking distance to Santa Monica shops and restaurants on one side and a straight shot down a charming walk to the beach. We had a ball. The living arrangements were roomy and comfortable for six. Lovely garden space to relax or have dinner as well as living room w big, flat screen and dining table for six. The hostess/ owner was helpful and available. Agreat experience in CA.!

i searched a while for a good place to stay in venice for a labor day weekend trip with 5 friends, and am very pleased i found this place. the house is in an unbeatable location -- 1 block from the beach AND a few blocks from the abbott kinney strip. we really enjoyed our stay -- had wine glasses for us to use, great shower, very beachy and homey design. Melodie was great, provided everything, kept the place in great condition, and very responsive.

the only downside i can think of is the beds were quite soft, so took some getting used to if you have a more firm bed. and my friend did get bit by a spider or a mosquito that caused his toe to swell up.

but all in all i would recommend!!

Great location - two blocks to right the middle of Venice Beach, close to cafes, bike route, etc. Great house - clean, comfortable, spacious, with all required appliances and facilities. Bikes available. Amazing for a morning ride on the beach. Fresh juices, coffees, breakfasts available in a very close proximity. Very pleasant, helpfull owner. Great place to stay for anyone!

I rented this property for 8 nights the end of March 09 for my family of 5. We really enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of room and fully stocked with everything we needed. Very comfortable beds and nicely decorated. Melodie was very gracious and gave us some nice pointers to local farmers markets on Sunday and Wednesday. She also recommended driving up to Pt. Dume, Malibu to whale watch. It was a beautiful spot and we did see grey whales close in off the point and dolphins as well. Of course we also saw dolphins right in front of our place at Venice beach. We especially enjoyed using the bikes to ride the boardwalk. You can ride to Will Rogers state beach to the north and to Redondo beach to the south with only a 1/2 mile stretch around Marina Del Ray (up Washington) on a bike lane. The rest is on the beach bike path. We did the entire length, fantastic! I thought I'd rather stay right on the beach, but Venice beach, while very interesting and great for people watching is also noisy and a little sketchy at night, so I was pleased to be a block away in our cozy quiet abode. The kids really enjoyed the beach. It is a nice walk or short bike ride up to the Santa Monica pier to the north.

We really liked this house. The beds were super comfy, the hot water never ended and the filter system made the tap water not only drinkable but delicious. I only wish I had packed slippers because the floors were cold. Otherwise everything was lovely and the owner was super nice.

We had a very relaxing 5 days in this beach house after a 4 week driving holiday around California. The owner kindly forwarded precise instructions as to how to get there and where to park. She greeted us with a plate of fresh muffins, showed us around the house and facilities, gave us maps to places to eat and shop and helped us with internet access. The furniture, beds and facilities were very comfortable. We enjoyed the new water filter put into the kitchen sink which provided delicious water and both the bathrooms had fantastic shower heads. It was only a short distance to the posher shops and restaurants around Santa Monica Mall and also only a stone throw from the more relaxed and colourful bohemian life on Venice beach where one could just sit and watch beautiful sunsets over the Pacific. The owner who lived upstairs was friendly and helpful and never intrusive. There was a genuine relaxed beach house feel to the place and we would rent the house again when we visit Los Angeles.

My parents and I rented the house for 10 days last October. We loved it. The neighborhood is great (Venice/Santa Monica) It's close to all commodities: beach, restaurants, shops, bars (Abbot Kinney and Main street). And when I say close I mean you can walk.

The house is great; nicely furnished, very spacious, very quiet; kitchen and bathrooms are brand new. There is even a washer and a dryer very useful.

The owner is very friendly. Always there if you need anything.

We'll definitively rent it again.
