Clean but tight!
Review Submitted: November 3, 2009
Date of Stay: October 2009
Our recent stay found the accommodation offered very clean, but the rooms were tight for 6 people (two pre-teens, four adults).
The townhouse is in a very quiet, leafy neighbourhood, about 5 minutes by car from Disneyland and close to the I-5. The pool is a block and a bit away walk, as is the tennis court.
A play ground we were advised was available for children; the only patio ( front of the townhouse) is tiny and definitely not suitable for any playtime.
There were plenty of towels in the bathroom, which was reached from the master bedroom through the second small bedroom, as well as from the hallway from the third bedroom. There was a lovely rain shower head in the shower and lots of readily available hot water.
Even though there was a two car garage attached, we were advised that it was not available for our use. Our automobiles had to be parked on the street front, which for the money was one of the annoyances we found with this property.
There was minimal furniture in the LR, not enough seating for the 6 of us at a time. The beds are rock hard, the pillows marginal and the sheets well washed. There are no patio chairs and no BBQ, the kitchen was lacking in some very basic staples, no wine glasses, no salad bowl, two cooking pots, only one utility knife (a big bread knife) and one very scuzzy washing up sponge, even though there is a dishwasher. We had to buy coffee filters, sponges and paper towel, though a carafe of bottled water was provided.
There was no phone, so not even dial-up internet connection was available. Not having a phone was an definite inconvenience; local calls for restaurant reservations (and to speak with the propery manager) incurred a long-distance roaming charge on our cell phone. Again for the money charged for our visit, this just wasn't satisfactory.
The property manager was very cooperative, once we aired our concerns over the lack of equipment; he did make the effort to bring us some wine glasses and kitchen knives, as well as more coffee filters and paper towel and provided us with a juicer for the bag of grapefruits we had bought to juice. Very nice of him, but these items should be a given.
Apart from all of this, the location, neighbourhood and conveniences close by are a plus.
In closing, we would only recommend this property for a very small family, 3 people,or perhaps four at a stretch; for the weekly rent paid, one would expect more.
Owner's Response: Dear renter:
We described in PLAIN ENGLISH, in this website, the amenities
we provide. And we don't offer : Car's garage, BBQ grill, sharp
knives, grapefruit squeezer, playground for pre-teens??? etc.
Next time you rent a house make sure to read what they offer
and what they don't.
We provide what most people need and use in their vacation.
If you're saying we are expensive maybe you should reconsider
having a California vacation, which is the most expensive place
on earth to be today, and choose something more suitable to
your budget, because we are among the most economic rental
houses in the market, just take a look around.
Regarding to our beds: Our mattresses are new that's why are
firm as they should be, not hard rock. (a soft mattress makes
wake up in the morning with back pain)
Regarding to the alleged lack of furniture in our living room:
We placed in the living room a combo set (a large couch that
sits three person and it's love pair that sits two, shown in the
photo's gallery, sitting a total of five people (like any conventional
living room) plus seven chairs attached to the area, add a total of
twelve the persons that could sit there comfortably.
We wonder how you couldn't sit there being only a party of four
with two kids, as you said: ''no enough seating at a time''
Did you sneak strangers in my property?
