Beautiful property with a wonderful pool perfect for very lazy days or as a base for further exploration. Brantome is a beautiful town with fabulous restaurants and shops; one doesn't tire of daily visits.

Try pecharment - the local red. Amazing.

The scenery is most Tuscan; just beautiful. And dogs were welcome. Perfect for a family or two, or just two people.

Our thanks for a great stay.
Owner's Response: Delighted to have you as our guests and glad you had such a good time. Hope to see you again.

Perfect Summer Retreat, Beautiful Location

This farmhouse was recommended to us by close friends and we were all thrille that it was even better than we expected, a wonderful location in a small hamlet the house is immaculatly presented and very well equipt for a large group with plenty of lovely touches to make you feel right at home. The only down side is this is not my home and leaving at the end of the week was a sad affair but brightened by the chance to visit again next year.

Nearby Brantome is a picture perfect town with many food shops and small shops, the market on Friday is not to be missed and a pleasant way to see local produce.

I would recommmend this house to anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful tranquil location. Five Stars from me!

The pictures reaqlly don't do this place and its owners justice.

The property is beautiful and has everything you need for the perfect relaxing holiday.

Two families just been over and enjoyed every minute.

Nearby Brantome is lovely with good shops, restaurants and a market to die for every Friday.

Doug and Pam were the perfect hosts.

Many thanks for a lovely time.

Our expectations were surpassed in that this lovely, tastefully renovated farmhouse was a delight. We were seven people, my husband and me, my two daughters and the three children. Needless to say, the outlay of this house was perfect with ample room, bathrooms etc. All was tastefully done giving us a warm, charming feeling in keeping with the country living of the region. A real plus was the extra apartment off the courtyard with the pool. It was the perfect private apartment for my daughter and the teenager. I have stayed in other "gites" before with only one bathroom. Here we had two in the mainhouse and another complete bathroom in the apartment.
Our hosts accomodated our requests but otherwise were not seen. We especially enjoyed our mid-June visit as it allowed us to visit Brantome and other areas without all the crowds. The children enjoyed the yard, games etc. that were provided, including the cherry tree.We will definitely try to come back!

Perfect Getaway

I was looking for somewhere were as a whole family we could exist in comfort with enough space to accommodate us all. This is most definitely it! The pool was perfect for lazy days whilst the locality oozes opportunities for all. The house is ideal for multiple family holidays and for those with small children and is as described on the website. We took in several beautiful local chateau's, went to the caves at Villars, canoed from Brantome to Bourdeilles, visited the castle there, cycled the slow winding back lanes (of which there are plenty!) played golf at Perigeux, went to several markets (Riberac, Perigeux, Brantome, Sarlat) and enjoyed superb wine, cheese and local cuisine. The house has everything you can need most especially a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer which were essential given we had three small children with us. As were the tv and dvd/video player to hold them still for an hour now and then. Doug and Pam were fantastic hosts, always ready to assist and just across the road (track). The pool room and offshoot are suitable to host one family and the three rooms upstairs are all a great size. The house was clean and homely. The garden is enclosed so small children can play safely without constant watching and we had several great meals out in the seating area and made use of the BBQ. A car is essential however as the locality is very rural but that in itself contributes to the whole charm of the area. A word to the wise, the restaurants stop serving around 9pm apart from the pizza place in Brantome which we can whole heartedly recommend - it's in an ancient cave!

If you want to escape it all and have somewhere where you can really relax, this is it! Well done to Pam and Doug for creating such a great place. We cannot recommend it strongly enough.
