Fantastic house in wonderful location

P and P Bedford, England
Review Submitted: April 21, 2008 Date of Stay: January 2008
We have stayed 3 times in this wonderful holiday home in the beautiful village of Seillans.
This fantastic property is well maintained and equiped to a very high standard by the friendly owners and is ideally situated in this outstanding location with spectacular views of the village and mountains all round. The secluded pool is fantastic and ideal for all the family.
Several great restaurants and shops are within a short walk allowing you to enjoy village life without having to drive. Great base for a holiday in the South of France. Everything about the holiday exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend this property to friends.
Owner's Response: P&P are working their way through the seasons with us; initially visited the house in the Spring, then in the Summer and most recently during last Winter when, I believe, they managed to get some skiing in at Isola and Greolieres-les-Neiges.

Wonderful place for a holiday - beautiful house which is comfortable and really well-equipped. Location is great with many places of varying interests within reach of this lovely perched village. Good restaurants within walking distance. Great pool and garden - there is always shade somewhere (and swallowtail butterflies!). Would recommend this property to friends.

Beautiful house and garden

Review Submitted: July 8, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This is a wonderful old house, located right in the middle of a beautiful village but nevertheless providing a secluded garden filled with fruit trees (orange, apricot, fig, olive) and a sun-drenched pool.

The house itself is very nicely furnished and provides two terraces (one covered by a grapevine) for outdoor eating. I strongly recommend a three minute stroll down through the village to buy bread at the bakery every morning followed by eating breakfast on the upper terrace, overlooking the garden.

Mountains, beaches, chateaux and the gorge de verdon are within an easy drive as are dozens of beautiful villages and many delightful walks and bike rides.

Within Seillans itself, there are several excellent restaurants within a two minute walk of the house.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday in your beautiful house in Seillans. Ten members of our family spent a magical week here.
We enjoyed the pool, the gardens, the well equipped house and also the fine restaurants and bars a short walk away. The village was enchanting as was the surrounding countryside. Lake Cassien and the Gorge du Verdon are well worth a visit.

Perfect place to unwind

We had the most perfect holiday staying here. The house was wonderful, we were three famillies, and it was perfect. The village is beautiful, with restaurants on the doorstep. We had relaxing pool days, days at the coast and exploring the gorge and other Provincal villages. The weather was thirty degrees every day and the rose wine was so good, just impossible not to love it here!

We spent two splendid weeks in this house and region. The house had everything you need and was tastefully furnished. We enjoyed that it is located within the town. Seillans is a very nice small town with everything you need for daily life. We can absolutely recommend this holiday property.

Relaxing Family Holiday

Mal D Bedford, UK
Review Submitted: August 30, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
Stayed for 2 weeks in this beautiful house with our extended family. Photos did not do the property justice and it's location in the heart of a medieval perched village was just what we were looking for.
The house was clean, spacious and furnished to a high standard. The pool was enjoyed by all, as was the welcome shade in the garden. Weather was very hot, 35 degrees plus, however this stone house remained pleasantly cool.
The village shops and excellent restaurants are all within easy walking distance of the house.
The house is in a great location with both the coast and mountains within easy reach. We visited Nice, Cannes, the lavender fields, and the Gorge du Verdon during our stay.
The booking process was made very easy by the owners and we would thoroughly recommend this property.

Couldn't ask for more!

Our family of 6 kiwis was lucky enough to spend 3 months of the summer of 2006 staying in this wonderful home, in beautiful Seillans as part of a year long trip. We fell in love with both the house and the village.
The house is all it says on the web site, and more. Photos and descriptions simply can't capture the atmosphere of this place!!
The house is aesthetically gorgeous (very french), and very comfortably and tastefully furnished. It is great for indoor and outdoor living and entertaining, with plenty of everything. (we found many places on our travels where you were provided with bare basics - not so here.) The pool is great, and well fenced if you have young kids. Beds are all comfortable and bedding of a good quality.
The house was clean, and lovely Chrysalline (sp?) ensured it stayed that way.
The house is in a great location, very central. Family boules tournaments across the road were a regular occurrence, although we never got as proficient as all the old regulars there!
Bastille Day at La Place de la Republique (across the road) was a huge night, and it was great not to have far to stagger home!
Many hours were spent lying by the pool, eating figs off the tree, listening to the violin and the clink of glasses from the restaurant below and smelling the wonderful food smells wafting up fron La Gloire de mon Pere. Eventually you won't be able to resist (and why should you!), and you will pop down and see Eric for a lovely meal! The Salon de The just down the street is also well worth a visit. Our kids loved the crepes and the divine hot chocolate, and we loved the savoury flans (and the hot chocolate too!)
Seillans is a great place to stay. It is centrally located for day trips ( The Riviera, surrounding villages, the Canyon du Verdon, the pedollos at Lac de St Cassien). But you may find it hard to leave the tranquility of Seillans - it took us two weeks to leave the village!
If you like to keep fit, forget the running - walking up the hills around here is lovely, and a very good work out.
In summary, fabulous! Worth every cent!

Rest and Relaxation

WiggyToo Oxford, UK
Review Submitted: April 27, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2007
We met up with a larger group in this house in April 2007, having had a long day driving so the last stretch up to the town and house was most welcome. The house stands in the centre of the town with great views over the valley and with the town amenities nearby (restaurants, bakery etc.). The square in front of the house is great for parking and just along is the town boules area which was great for watching the world go by and unwinding.

There are some nice walks in the area, we did two, one easier down to see some old dry stone huts called Borie, the other more strenuous up into the forests behind the house - plenty of signs of wild boar in these beech forests.

The web site description of the house is a good one; it is a large house over a number of levels that allowed our large group to disappear and then meet up in the large dining room and lounge. We were in the downstairs room which has its own bathroom and smaller room attached for family use (called "Summer Ground Floor Bedroom" on the site). This has shutters and french doors out onto the terrace that surrounds the house - really nice. Lots of personal touches in the house, nice furniture - it feels like someones house rather than a sparse rental property - all clean and well maintained.

The garden is lovely, we didn't use the pool but it looked clean and is large, but securely fenced off. There is a large outdoor table shaded by plants growing over a frame, put to immediate use when we arrived for a cold glass of local rose - really nice shade when hot.

We tried one of the local restaurants, just down from the house in the town square by the fountain, called La Gloire de Mon Pere with tables outside - lovely Sunday lunch in the sun. There are 3 - 4 other restaurants in the town so if you were staying longer than we did plenty of choice. There's a small Supermarket (Huit a Huit) in the lower part of the town and a much larger E.Leclerc 10 minutes drive away so easy to stock up.

What else? Seillans is a small town so has a nice feel to it and the old part is compact and full of interesting nooks and crannies. It is pretty central for visits out and about - other local towns (Fayence is nice), the coast is within easy reach, the hills inland too.

This is a fantastic old house in a beautiful location great for family groups or groups of friends looking to rest, relax and chill out - we would have loved to stay longer!

A memorable holiday

Our party of eleven stayed for one week in May 2006. A beautifully furnished, clean and well maintained house, roomy with super pool and large garden. Ideally situated for South France, the hills and Gorges du Verdon - certainly one of our favourite areas. The village has a traditional French atmosphere, lovely restaurants and community 'feel'. We enjoyed it immensely, toured the area extensively and there's still more to see! Highly recommended.
