We booked a last minute short stay in this appartment and it was everything we could have hoped for (except for the weather!!!). Penny, the owner was more than helpful, without intruding. The area is lovely, Solva has some great pubs and restaurants, and is well placed for local beaches (by car).

"The Annex" Solva

Review Submitted: September 22, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Having spent a week in early September at "The Annex" I have to say that it was every bit as good as the listing description and more. An ideal totally self-contained property for two which was very clean and well equipped although an extra stool at the breakfast bar would be a good idea as we chose to eat there instead of out in the extension where it wasn't as cosy but I expect in the height of summer that would have been a good place. We were lucky with the weather but even so the lashings of piping hot water was much appreciated after stunning walks on the coastal path. Ideally situated being able to walk into Solva harbour with good places to eat. For seafood lovers would especially recommend the dressed crab at the Old Printing Shop in Solva. However the walk back up the hill was a bit of a hike at the end of a long day. In short can thoroughly recommend "The Annex" and Solva and can't wait to make a return visit.

Excellent accomodation, strictly for two people. Clean & well equipped, owners on site friendly & most helpful.

Good position on outskirts of small village, 1st class local store/PO and Pub nearby handy for food/drink.

Overall hard to find a fault, lovely stretch of Coastline

The Annex is a real little home, very pleasant to come back to. It is very well equipped. It would be nice to have a small table out on the patio to eat outside . Penny, the owner, is very helpful without imposing herself on you. Good access on foot to the coastal path and to a well equipped store and post office. One needs a car to get to all the lovely places around Solva. We certainly appreciated the efficient bus services. Solva itself is an attractive place with a good selection of restaurants for all tastes. There's tons of info material in the Annex.

The annex is an ideal property for the over 55s but not without a car.It is situated between Haverfordwest which is great for shopping and St Davids which is lovely to walk round and is near a nice beach called White sands.Solva its self is a picuresque place with plenty of gift shops and places to eat its also well situated to visit other locations such as Newgail beach and Broard Haven beach. If you are into walking and sightseeing on land or water this is the ideal area.

The Annex, Solva

We've just had a great week staying in The Annex in Solva. The property was clean & well-maintained, plenty of room for 2 & very private with it's own small courtyard & off-road parking. The best bit for us was its proximity to the coastal path...on 3 days we walked from the house without the need for a car. There is a post-office selling provisions 10 mins walk away, & the village of Solva is a 20 min walk away. We also walked to the Solva Woollen Mill which was very interesting. Only downside...poor TV reception but there's lots else to do! St Davids is definitely worth a visit, especially the cathedral, also Pembroke & its castle are good for a rainy day.

The property lived up to its description in the advert. Easy to find, well laid out, clean, well maintained, the owner greeted us after a few hours to settle in and advised on restaurants etc. After that she left us alone but was available if needed. I would recommend the property to a couple who enjoy walking the wonderful coastal path during the day and eating in attractive, welcoming pubs and restaurants in the evening.Porthgain - The Sloop Inn was excellent. In Solva, apart from the Royal George, all places were good. St. Davids just a five minutes by car is a lovely little place. Make use of the shuttle buses when walking. They are very convenient and useful. A visit to the island of Skomer is recommended. But what you do if it rains for days I don't know!!
