Just returned from a 2 week stay in this wonderful villa, 14th to 28th June 2008. The location, layout and description of the property are very accurate. The owner is very approachable, friendly and understanding and for those of you who are afraid of the french language, all communication can be done in English with the owner which is great.
The kitchen is well equipped, the fridge holds all your food and drink for at least a week, good freezer to make icepops for kids. Comfortable eating areas on breakfast bar, good lounge and open plan social area on ground floor.
Main double bedroom has wonderful views of the village of Biot and further into Provence. Ample storage space for clothes etc. Twin bedroom nice and cool for children. Attic bedroom is very roomy, I am 6 foot and can easily stand in most places.
The 2 bathrooms were spotlessly clean on arrival, lovely towels were provided at a small cost to us but well worth it to keep luggage weight down if using no-frill airlines.
Rear patio area a real suntrap from midday onwards, not overlooked and secure for small children. We spent most afternoons either sunbathing here or at the poolside. Front patio good and provides more shade for those who do not want to worship the sun!
The swimming pools are superb and cleaned every day. Most days had both pools to ourselves and this was a real bonus, lots of sun here too. Small pool was 100% brill for my son and children are fully visible while parents swim in the large pool. For extra security the pools are wholly enclosed in a gated area.
This area of France has so much to see and do for all age ranges. Antibesland is great for younger children but make sure you have plenty of 2euro coins! There is a Water Park within 5 mins drive from the villa for those who like to splash!
I recommend car hire from the airport if you stay here (there is secure parking), the bakery 4 mins drive from the villa at Biot 3000 is super for fresh baguettes - also try their Quiche de Jambon- its the best I have ever tasted in France. 2 of our favourite restaurants who are great with the kids are called La Galerie Aubernon in the old part of Antibes and Le Champoinnet in the covered area of the market in Antibes. Carrefour is the best hypermarket in the area and is 6 mins by car - check it out
All in all I would highly recommend this villa to anyone but especially to those travelling with a small family.
I can't wait to return
Happy holidaying!!!!!!!
