The condo was beautiful and perfectly appointed with anything one might need.
The beach was great and the kayaking &snorkeling were great fun.

While we could cook in the condo the availibility of the restaurant right next door was great.

Hi Belle and Kevin- I can’t even begin to tell you how thrilled we were to be staying at your place. The location was amazing! The sunsets really had us breathless. Did you decorate the condo? I LOVED it! My family loved it as well and kept telling me over and over that I booked the perfect spot. Gigi was a sweetheart. Gosh the week just went by so fast. First it’s Monday, next thing I know it’s Friday!! How does that happen? Well, just wanted to thank you guys again and again. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else. :)

Belle,

Thanks for renting us your Condo. My family (parents, grandparents and 2 kids) had a fantastic week at the Retreat at Rum Point. The apartment was well kept, had nice furniture and with a great view of Rum Point and the dock. The apartment faces West and is shielded from the wind. We snorkled, sailed, kayaked, and played volleyball almost every day. We appreciated having the active beach next to the area so we could either rent some water sport toys, go and grab a drink in the bar or play volleyball with some to the visitors off the cruise ship or from seven mile beach.

I must say the snorkling was a big highlight and having such fantastic snorkling areas within walking distance was great.

We also got to see Grand Caymans only pink flamingo which has made a home at the sandbar along the rum point beach.

We will be back there without a doubt.

All the best,

Paal

The is really a great seaside apartment. Some of the key points are :

- Well equipped and very clean.

- High quality furnishings.

- High vaulted ceilings and spacious rooms.

- Perfect location on the Grand Cayman island for a holiday.

- Screened west facing lanai - great view and sunsets.

- Good wireless internet (circa 1 Mbps) and wide selection of cable channels. Separate TVs and cable in both bedrooms.

- 3rd floor position great for security, view and very quiet at night.

- Owners Belle and Kevin very responsive and easy to deal with (contact via VRBO).

- Reliable on-site management agent (North Coast Resort Management).

We would certainly return to The Retreat at Rum Point #33 in the future.

Whether it was devine intervention that drew me to your website listing or pure luck, but we couldn't have imagined a more perfect spot to share this special time with our girls. We frequently commented on how amazing it was that 6 women were able to get along for the entire trip with no fights, illnesses, or injuries and the weather couldn't have been more cooperative.

The condo was just exquisite, with every possible ammenity and your attention to detail was remarkable in decorating and furnishing it. Kudos to you!!! We basically had the Retreat Beach and waterfront area to ourselves until Friday. The few others that seemed to be staying at the Retreat, headed over to the public beach most of the day. With young children that was understandable. We, however, were content and thrilled with the peaceful, picturesque surroundings and ventured over to the public beach on occasion for food/drinks or to sign up for an excursion.

The other two ladies went scuba diving which was thrilling for them and very much out of character for both of them. We all did the catamaran stingray/snorkeling trip and that was fantastic. We cooked and ate in most nites enjoying both breakfast and dinner on the screened in porch.......there couldn't be a better waterfront dining location!!! We enjoyed preparing grouper, sea bass, kingfish and other delicious meals in your well appointed kitchen ( only missing item was a vegetable peeler...FYI). LOL

We hated to leave and even inquired at the office if the unit was available for another day or two, but they said there was another party coming in on Friday. They offered us a unit at another complex but if we couldn't stay there it wasn't worth it to us. We also cleaned the entire unit and stripped all the beds and began laundering the towels for the housekeeping staff. They came in around 11:30 as we were finishing our final packing to begin cleaning the unit. They seemed appreciative of our efforts to leave them little to straighten up. The majority of their work was linens and towels. We wanted to leave the unit as pristine as we found it.

Thanks again, Belle, so much for your allowing us to stay in your little piece of heaven called The Retreat at Rum Pointe. It will be a special memory for us all and we plan to put together a scrapbook for each of the girls with the many, many pictures we took while there.

I know I am definitely planning to return as soon as possible and the other Moms were eager to begin planning to come back as well. I hope you will consider renting to us again, as I cant imagine wanting to stay anywhere else.

Lets keep in touch and please feel free to use me or any of my lengthy narrative above in a reference for your vacation home.

WIth much appreciation,

Susan

We absolutely loved this condo, the resort, and the location. It is truly fantastic. I am SO glad we did not stay in the 7 miles beach area. We drove there yesterday to check it out and were so happy to get back to this beautiful oasis. Walking toward Kaibo along the beach, the scenery is out of a dream or painting. The beach in front of the condo is charming, and I love having the company of the wreck bar & grill next door. I would definitely come back here. The condo is gorgeous--beautifully decorated, the views fantastic, and the owners lovely to deal with.
You can do as much or as little as you like here. The weather was perfect. We had lazy beach days. We bicycled around the pleasant laid-back residential streets. This place has a great Caribbean feel to it.
We rented a sail boat and wave runners from the Red Sail place next door. We ate at the fantastic Rum Point Restaurant and fun Wreck Bar & Grill. Also, drove a mile away to Kaibo Yacht Club for meals.
We took one day to drive around the island, and I didn't see any place better.
We were all sad to leave....it was truly the most beautiful place we've stayed at in the Caribbean.

We had a fabulous time at Grand Cayman Island. We loved the condo! It was very convenient to the beach, clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for our family. We really enjoyed having a kitchen with all of the appliances. The location was great - when the weather would turn bad, we could run right upstairs and watch the storm pass from our porch. Snorkeling was great - and so easy - we could just walk right down the beach and get in; then the tide would bring us back. The owners made sure that we had all of the information we needed to make our trip a memorable one. They even helped us out on a special request to find information about a race that was happening on the island - going way beyond the call of duty. We would definately recommend staying at this condo!

We had the most incredible trip – the kids still talk about it all of the time. It was our favorite family vacation, Rum Point is gorgeous. The condo was perfect and we really enjoyed the wildlife in the water right outside. The first day we were walking in ankle deep water and spotted a baby sting ray swimming by. The snorkeling was also amazing!!! Belle was so very helpful and nice, we would definately recommend Rum Point!

Our family visited Grand Cayman in August 2008 and we stayed at The Retreat at Rum Point. It was just what the doctor ordered. We had a great time which was mostly due to the location and wonderful accommodations of unit #33.

Everything was exactly as presented on VRBO. The condo was very well stocked and the owners remembered all of the little things to make their guests feel right at home. Belle was very accommodating and was a great help in planning our trip.

We drove over to Seven Mile Beach one day and we were very pleased that we were staying on the other side of the island in Rum Point. Sure it was far away from the 'action' but it was very quiet and peaceful there and the view from the condo couldn't be beat. Our only regrets were that we don't own a condo there and had to leave after staying only a week. But WE'LL BE BACK.....someday!!!
