HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Review Submitted: September 11, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
My family went and stayed at the Golf Villas in Aug '08. We traveled at the same time with 3 other families that are friends from home. We all stayed in different units, so I was able to see a total of 4 units.

I have to say........that this unit is the place to stay! It is nicely furnished, beautifully appointed with all the amenities you would ever need. If I stayed in that unit it would be like "being at home". Never a want for anything! The wireless internet capability is great, and the kitchen is fully stocked. Very comfy.

The location of this unit is great -- on the ground floor, with a patio/lawn area that provides beautiful sunsets, overlooking the golf course. It is also located in a building at the end of a cul-de-sac, so it is very quiet and low traffic.
The pool is great (very close) for kids and adults, and the Mauna Lani beach is great for snorkeling.

Definitely give this place a try! Enjoy!

What a wonderful rental! The condo was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It had everything we could have asked for in a vacation rental. All the amenities we needed were there, from dishsoap and laundry soap to shampoo. It truly felt like a home away from home.

The pool was perfect for our young children and the snorkeling at the private beach was amazing. The best, however, were the sunsets on the lanai. Absolutely beautiful!

The Fish family was wonderful to work with. Thank you for providing the location for a fun and relaxing vacation.

I have never had a nicer vacation in my life.My wife and I were wanting peace, quiet, and no crowds. We got it!
The weather, pool, and the BeachClub were the ultimate.Perfect snorkeling!!
The Golf Villa was perfect.Everything we needed was available. We brought our lap top and my wife was able to work on her online class for her masters degree.
Our property manager was very helpful and professional.
Our entire experince with the Fish family was very professional and made our vacation perfect.
I would return to this villa again and could easily spend a winter there.
You just gotta go to Mauna Lani!

After experiencing this condo, I will probably never stay in a hotel again for family vacations. With two full luxurious bedrooms and bats, Marble Counter Tops, Plasma TVs, dvd player and a brand new kitchen and the incredible convenience of a washer and dryer you absolutely can't beat it. A room in a hotel like this would cost a $1000 a night, easy. It's a very short walk to a wonderful swimming pool that is ideal for children under 10 years old. It's very quiet and peaceful and has a nice view of the 9th hole on the back porch while watching the incredible sunsets. The owners have stocked the house with all kinds of amenities and the wireless internet is a huge benefit because in hawaii, you're always looking for information. Bring your laptop! Plus, the washer and dryer enable you to take fewer clothes. We even did our laundry before we left so there was none to do when we got home! There's no doubt in my mind that this was the greatest value I've ever had in a vacation home. You won't be disappointed.

The Mauna Lani area is a very relaxing place to spend a most surprising birthday. I spent 10 days at the Golf Villas with family including grandchildren. The condo was very child friendly, especially the beach club and its resident hermit crabs. I especially loved the snorkeling, the dinners on the lanai, the golf at both the North and South Courses, the shops, and the tour of Volcano National Park. The Fish Family outdid themselves on decor and amenities. I couldn't ask for anything more!

Our family of four just returned from spending a week in this fabulous condo, and we hope to return again next winter to see the whales. We echo all of the other sentiments already posted: great location, extremely comfortable and well appointed, excellent service and hospitality, ultimately providing a peaceful and relaxing environment for an ideal vacation. The pool was the perfect size and depth for our kids (ages 5 and 7), and we spent many afternoons at the private beach but also enjoyed the proximity to many other popular beaches on the Kohala coast.

We just returned from spending five nights in this great condo. We really enjoyed everything about it. Mauna Lani is hot in June but the breezes cooled the condo each morning and again at night. We did not have to use the air-conditioning, which I loved.
The condo is nicely furnished and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen has everything you will need. You can pack light because you have a washer and dryer in the condo.
This is a great home away from home!

My husband, two sons (ages 10 & 12) and I stayed at this condo at the end of March 2007. The condo is brand new and beautiful - with a lovely granite kitchen and granite counters in both bathrooms. (The pictures here do not do it justice.) The decor was tasteful (yet fun) and just right for this island condo. We were the only ones staying in our building at the time, so it was very quiet, and we had the community pool almost to ourselves. This condo is at the end of the subdivision, so that also makes it quiet and private (the back of the condo looks onto the golf course).

Donna, the property manager, greeted us with homemade cookies - a nice touch. Donna was friendly and helpful, and was truly interested in making sure we had a pleasant stay.

The owners of the condo, the Fishes, were also very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed talking with them and corresponding by email.

One of the best parts of staying here was the access to the private parking lot at the Beach Club. We loved this beautiful, protected, snorkeling and swimming beach, and to not have to walk (15 minutes?) from the parking lot at the Mauni Lani hotel to get to this beach was a big plus.

We enjoyed our stay here very much and I would recommend staying at this condo.

We were exceptionally pleased with this wonderful condo. The host family have furnished beautifully! The beach and pool are the best. Golf was challenging, the best course we have ever played! It is a quiet, heavenly location. We will go back next year.
