'just wanted to let you know that we had a lovely stay at your villa - it was absolutely perfect and the pool and garden were just stunning - one of the most perfect weeks we've had and definitely the 'get away from it all that we needed'!!!'

'We had a wonderful holiday and were very impressed with the villa. We try not to have expectations before we go away but did think that, as it was a 2-bed property, everything would be scaled down but there was so much space! It’s hard to think of anything that would improve it. We’ve had lots of villa holidays and this was amongst the best properties we’ve stayed in'

The perfect escape!

Stressfree Al Southampton
Review Submitted: November 9, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
If you're after a villa that is totally private with no neighbours, beautifully designed and spacious with a superb layout, that allows you to sit outside at night counting the stars with no light pollution, is close enough to walk into the local village for authentic Portuguese food, a place where you can totally relax, chill and not be disturbed, then this is the place for you.

This is the perfect retreat for those who want to de-stress and leave all your worries at home.

2 Weeks in September '09

Casa Margaretha is possibly the best villa we have ever rented.
It is comfortable, well-furnished and well equipped. The garden is delightful and provides a spendid setting for a very high quality pool.
At the time of our visit everything was very well maintained and Casa-care - the company retained by the owners to look after the property and attend to tenants' needs - did all that they should and more.
The surroundings, mainly of open countryside, ensure quietness and a high degree of privacy, conducive to a very relaxed lifestyle.
Sao Bras itself is a very ordinary Portuguese country town lacking any spectacular features and, though it has a number of English speaking restaurants and 3 international supermarkets, is relatively untouched by tourism; and that is its attraction.
We did not go far afield, but enjoyed visiting Loule, Queranca, Estoi, St Barbara en Nexe, Tavira and Olhaio all of which have interesting features but, in September at least, were not over-run with holidaymakers.
We should happily recommend this property to others and should ourselves pay a return visit if we decided to go again to the Eastern Algarve or simply wanted complete relaxation in a 'get away' location which is, however, easily accessible, via Faro, from most UK airports.
A few points to note however:
The pool is not fenced so young children would require close supervision.
Though it would be possible to gain access to the house, which is all on one level, the steps to and from outside terraces really make the property unsuitable for anyone with restricted mobility.
A car is definitely required and, though it is possible to walk into Sao Bras, this involves negotiating a busy ring road intersection without the benefit of any 'crossings' and using roads with no footpaths.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful week at Casa Margaretha.
We found everything to be just as described in the "official" details, only better!
Villa very well equipped and the pool and gardens are perfect - very private and quiet.
Would definitely make a return visit.

Can't wait to return!

We've just returned from a wonderful relaxing holiday in Sao Bras. The villa was excellent - it was immaculate as well as having everything you could wish for. The pool, garden and outside areas were of a very high standard, looking out over the countryside was just lovely. The pool is gorgeous and the gardens beautiful - it was tempting to stay on one of sun loungers or in the pool and not leave the property, but the local area is well worth exploring.

Both the owners and their agent were very consciencious and helpful before and during our holiday. It was especially good to arrive on a hot day to find food and drink (welcome pack) in the fridge.

We would highly recommend Casa Margaretha and will definitely be booking it again. Many thanks!!

A Fabulous Place!

Review Submitted: August 30, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We have just returned from our third fantastic holiday at Casa Margaretha; it's the nicest accommodation we have ever stayed in. The large villa has everything you could possibly need for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The pool, terracing and wonderful garden really are 'paradise'. We loved sitting on the terrace in the evening with a few bottles of wine, listening to the local wildlife and watching the birds.

There are some very nice local restaurants, but we also enjoyed cooking for ourselves on the barbeque with excellent produce available in the supermarkets.

All in all, we had a fabulous time and didn't want to leave. Hope to visit again sometime.

More Edmontonians

wonderstay Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Review Submitted: August 6, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
What a wonder - it exceeded all the expectations we had from the descriptions of the property and the recommendations of friends who had stayed there before. All the amenities of home plus the wonder of a holiday villa. The property is very well maintained, clean and private. It is close to all one's needs for dining out and provisioning in the village of Sao Bras. The pool is fantastic and the gardens close to Eden but without an apple tree. The hardest thing we had to deal with was leaving. Definitely a must for a return visit in the future.

The perfect relaxing holiday

Diggers Delights Devon, UK
Review Submitted: July 23, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Exactly as described: a wonderful villa (large for 4 adults) with a large pool in a lovely location. Very clean and well maintained with everything we needed for a relaxing break in the sun with lots of sunbathing and reading. Easy to find, within easy reach of supermarket and local restaurants, and a short drive to hot spots like Tavira and Silves. Tavira was lovely to eat out - lots of fresh fish served in restaurants by the river. We also had a lovely meal in Algar Seco on a short visit to Carveiro. We had some fab BBQ's in the cooler evenings, so, although cheap to eat out, it was possible to keep costs down.

Owners very efficient, informative and honest. We were pleasantly suprised on arrival to find the welcome pack of bread, ham, cheese, etc which went down well after a long morning of travelling!

Would definately recommend this villa to anyone and plan to go back in the near future!!

Nice villa

Review Submitted: July 14, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We had an enjoyable week's stay at this property in a peaceful setting yet with the local town and shops easily accessible. The pool is a good size and this is where we spent most of our holiday.

On the downside, which is why we have not marked this as a 5, was one morning the gardeners arrived unannounced whilst we were in the pool and stayed for 4 hours. As we felt uncomfortable we left the villa and, on our return, they were still there. Wherever we have stayed before we have not had maintenance carried out during our stay and expect this to be carried out on the changeover day or an empty week as we felt we lost half a day of our holiday.
